Two Wisconsin teens are being charged as adults in the alleged gang rape of two girls inside a garage, where one victim said she was forced to perform oral sex until her throat bled.
A 16-year-old victim told police that she and a 15-year-old who had just run away from a nearby Family & Children’s Center were inside suspect Heavell Basley’s garage late Oct. 29 or early Oct. 30 with about 15 other people, according to a criminal complaint obtained by the La Crosse Tribune .
The 16-year-old girl said Basley and another teen, Ronald Crosby Jr., 17, proceeded to rape and hit the 15-year-old victim before she intervened. The 16-year-old girl was then forced to perform oral sex on “a lot” of offenders until her throat bled. Several unidentified teens then raped and hit her, according to the complaint.
The 15-year-old girl said she lost consciousness after she ingested a drug while being forced to perform oral sex before a “whole bunch of guys” raped her, according to the complaint.
Basley, 18, also allegedly assaulted one girl three times, hitting and choking her, before calling her a derogatory name for “having sex with all those other guys,” the criminal complaint reads.
Police later found a twin mattress, used condoms and buckets filled with urine inside the garage.
Basley initially told police he was “being a nice guy” by providing a home for the 15-year-old girl. He claimed he saw other males inside the garage assaulting her before admitting he had as well, according to the complaint. He also said the younger girl forced herself on him and that the 16-year-old girl was not assaulted, according to police.
One of the victims said as many as 11 males were involved in the assault, but Crosby and Basley are the only defendants charged as adults in La Crosse County Circuit Court. Prosecutors charged Crosby with sexual assault of a child younger than 16 and first-degree sexual assault, among other lesser charges. Basley was charged with four counts of sexual assault of a child younger than 16 and strangulation.
Crosby and Basley were jailed on $10,000 and $5,000 bond, respectively.

Six young men – some of them just teenagers – have been arrested by police after a girl was filmed being sexually assaulted in a shocking daylight attack.
A witness filmed the horrendous attack that saw a gang of men laughing and jeering as the ripped off the girl’s clothes.
Video of the assault, filmed in Jehanabad in Bihar state, India, was widely shared online, where police picked it up and began investigation.
Two of the attackers in the clip are still missing and being tracked down by police, senior officers said.
Nayyar Hasnain Khan has formed a special team of police to investigate the video, which has outraged thousands since it surfaced online.
In it, the girl is passed between the young men as she kicks and screams to try to get away.
One of the men lifts her feet off the ground as she tries to free herself.
No witnesses, including the person holding the filming the attack on a mobile phone, is seen doing anything to intervene.
Most of the attackers are teenagers, the police say.
A motorcycle belonging to one of them, which was also seen in the video, was a vital clue for the police.
The mobile phone with which the video was filmed has also been recovered by the police, they said.
According to the NDTV news channel, based in New Delhi, police are now carrying out door to door searches in the neighbourhood and talking to villagers to identify the rest of the attackers.
The girl and her family have also been offered counselling, officers said.
A First Investigation Report has been registered against the accused under the stringent Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
The incident comes in the middle of outrage and disgust across India over a series of child rapes.
The death penalty was recently brought in for child rape cases in Kathua, in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, after nationwide anger over the gang-rape and murder of an eight-year-old girl.
While a six-year-old girl in Odisha died in hospital this weekend after being raped, strangled and left to die by a neighbour.

Six young men have been arrested in connection with the sexual assault of a teenage girls in northeastern India.
The incident was filmed by a witness, and the footage shows eight teenagers and young men attacking a girl in Jehanabad in Bihar state.
The attackers can be seen laughing and jeering as they tear the teenage girl's clothes off and molest her.

No witnesses, including the person holding the mobile phone filming the attack, reportedly intervened.
The shocking video footage was shared widely on social media, prompting police to launch an investigation.
A motorcycle belonging to one of the attackers can be seen in the video, which led police to six of the eight people in the clip, NDTV reports.

Three of the arrested are 18 years old, one is 16, and one is 14, local news report.
'Soon after the video had gone viral on social media the police acted on its own and arrested four of them,' Inspector General of Police Nayear Husnain Khan told The Hindu. Two more arrests were later made.
'We'll arrest those absconding involved in the incident soon and ensure speedy trial in the case.'
Police said they are continuing to look for the remaining two attackers, and are providing counselling and support to the victim and her family.
