Teen who endured years of sexual abuse by 'father-figure' speaks out, testifies in court
UPDATE (1-21)--The teen who was allegedly raped and endured years of sexual abuse by his "father-figure" testified today against his alleged attacker.
The now 17-year-old says former Boy Scout leader Darrell Fisher took the boy in at age 13 after getting kicked out of his home and paid for many of the boy's needs, including a car.
The teen also stated in court he witnessed Fisher sexually abuse two other boys and even confronted him about the assaults.
Once the teen realized Fisher's alleged abuses were still taking place, he decided to report his years of assault to police.
ORIGINAL REPORT--NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- A disturbing crime to tell you about and a wake-up call for parents.
The leader of the Historical Cadet Corps, a Boy Scouts troop in Belle Meade, is under arrest and charged with raping a child.
The search warrant details the crimes against one child but we understand that there could be many more victims.
The first few lines of the search warrant is shocking enough. Metro detectives used the search warrant to look inside his Belle Meade House for chastity belts, harnesses, electrical shocking devices and diapers.
"I met him through the Historical Cadet Corps," said the teenage victim.
This teen says he endured five years of sexual abuse at the hands of his Boy Scouts mentor and the leader of a youth group that does World War II reenactments. According to Darrell Fisher's website, he's been running this group in Nashville since 2001.
"Imagine a dog collar, a shock collar, for a dog but around your private areas," said the teen.
Since 12-year-old, the teen says he kept it a secret out of fear until finding out Fisher had been abusing other children..."And I started worrying about other kids that were in the scout troop."
"When did you decide to speak up?" asked Reporter Sabrina Hall.
"I decided to speak up about a month ago," said the teen.
"So you've held the secret that many years?" asked Hall.
"Did you just tell your parents too?" asked Hall.
This teen describes being forced to wear chastity belts.
"The chastity devices were called a 'protector,' the boy said.
He says he was even forced to put diapers on the man for sexual reasons.
"The way he made us look at it was... 'Since I'm helping you, you have to help me. I have a problem with controlling urges to touch myself' and stuff like that."
The teen says Fisher taught him a lot about restoring old military vehicles and helped him with school so he says its confusing turning someone-in that he considered his father figure.
"He improved our lives while kind of destroying them," the boy said.
He says another one of his friends has come forward to police, and detectives are asking any other victims to come forward.
Right now Fisher is charged with aggravated sexual battery and rape of a child. His bond is set at $300,000.
