A "quiet and unassuming" boy, Dennis Rader later fantasized about "trapped and helpless" women.

In one of the BTK Killer's several letters to police, serial killer Dennis Rader shared disturbing details from his childhood that explained the motivations behind his brutal, sexually charged murders. Rader explained that as a boy, he would often view pornography, which he believed led him to develop violent fantasies as a teenager that involved "S/M & B/D" ( sadomasochism and bondage and domination). By 18, Rader said his fantasies escalated into window-peeping and stealing women's underwear .
It wasn't until 2005 when police finally captured Rader that they discovered how deadly his fantasies became. While searching his property, authorities found a treasure trove of "trophies" from Rader's 10 victims, copies of the letters he sent police and hundreds of photographs. Some were of the people he murdered, and others were of himself in various forms of bondage. According to CNN , Rader admitted to setting up his tripod and camera in hotel rooms and taking photographs of himself, and he would often experiment with "auto-erotic activity," which involved Rader limiting his own oxygen supply to experience "a heightened feeling of euphoria' during sexual release."
These selfies — featured in Oxygen's " Snapped: Notorious BTK Killer " — gave investigators crucial insight into how family man and church leader Dennis Rader transformed into the BTK Killer. Scroll down to see what authorities discovered at his Wichita, Kansas, home and office.
Tied to a chair. Rader would often dress in women's clothing for the selfies.
Bound in the woods. He would also conceal his face with various masks.
Hanging from a tree. In various selfies, Rader hung himself from a tree with elaborate bondage.
Hanging in women's clothes. Again, Rader dressed himself in women's clothes and bound himself.
Shed of secrets. In a shed on Rader's property, police also discovered " soiled lingerie " and sexually explicit books and magazines wrapped in plastic.
Masked in a ditch. According to CBS News , Rader would often relive "the ecstasy of the murder" by taking photographs of himself in the victims' clothing.
Covered in plastic. By recreating his crime scenes, Rader would be able to " live in that moment for years ," said Capt. Sam Houston of the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office

(The baby powder is supposed to reduce the friction so that it only takes 15 minutes to put on a catsuit instead of 30. This is not an exaggeration.)

With the excessive sweating and the squeaking and the claustrophobia of stretching an inches-wide shirt opening to fit over your abnormally large head, I can't say *I* personally find latex sexy, which made it much easier to wear in our admittedly anything-goes office. IRL, too, nobody really reacted, probably because 1) this is New York, and 2) I was so sweaty they were scared striking up a conversation might send me into cardiac arrest.

This time , I'm okay with not being approached. Latex, by nature, is insular—it literally sucks everything in—and pulling it off also depends on the interior. I'm not suggesting you repeat this challenge in your own workplace, but from my own experience, all you would need to make it, or any other risky outfit, a success is some confidence. But who knows? Warren Martin Coulton, from Baildon, West Yorkshire, tied up his partner Claire Wright in a sex game in north Wales, however she suffocated after he fell asleep while her mouth was covered
This is the first picture of a 'loving and caring mother' who was killed in a bondage game gone wrong after her partner fell asleep.
Warren Martin Coulton, 52, tied up his partner Claire Wright, 38, in Herons Lake Retreat near Caerwys in July 2018, NorthWalesLive reports.
Ms Wright suffocated after Coulton, who had consumed a cocktail of drink and drugs, fell asleep in the park while she was still restrained.
When Coulton, from Baildon, West Yorkshire, awoke he found his partner was dead and fled the scene, with staff at the retreat later discovering her body.
It was subsequently determined she had died from asphyxia.

Today a jury at Mold Crown Court found Coulton guilty of the manslaughter by gross negligence of mum-of-two Claire.
The judge Mr Justice Simon Picken sentenced Coulton, of Buck Lane, Baildon, near Bradford, to six years in prison for the crime.
In a statement released after the verdict, detective constable Lee Harshey-Jones, of North Wales Police, said: "This was a tragic and needless death of a woman described by her friends and family as being a loving and caring mother.
"Coulton had a responsibility to look after Claire’s welfare and he failed to do so with tragic consequences.
"It was Coulton’s failure and lack of care towards Claire which ultimately led to her untimely death.
"Today the court has recognised this failure, and he has been sentenced having been found guilty of manslaughter with gross negligence.
"I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere condolences to the family and friends of Claire.
"Incidents of this nature are very rare in North Wales.
"Today’s verdict demonstrates that we will leave no stone unturned in bringing the perpetrators of such crimes to justice."

The FBI is seeking help with an infamous missing person’s case where a photo of the victim bound and gagged turned up after she vanished.
Bureau detectives this week announced a $20,000 reward for information leading to the whereabouts of Tara Calico, who disappeared near her home in Belen, New Mexico, in September 1988.
A famous Polaroid showing Tara with her hands tied and black tape over her mouth was found in the parking lot of a Florida convenience store in July 1989, 1,500 miles from where she disappeared.
Forensic analysts from Scotland Yard in London agreed with Tara’s mother that the photo depicted the missing girl in the back of a white Toyota van, and featured a scar very similar to one Tara had on her leg.
James Langenberg, a special agent with the FBI’s Albuquerque Division said: ‘Tara had her entire future ahead of her when she vanished.
‘Law enforcement has never given up the search for this young lady, checking out numerous tips and conducting countless interviews over the course of more than 30 years.
‘But it’s time for someone to come forward and help us finally bring Tara home.’
Tara left her home in Brugg Street to go for a bike ride at 9:30am on Thursday September 20 1988.
She was last seen riding along Highway 47 in Valencia County at 11:45am that morning, with several witnesses claiming to have seen Tara being followed by a light-colored Ford pickup truck.
The missing teenager regularly took the same route during her favorite 36 mile ride.
Tara sometimes rode the same route with her mother Patty Doel, but Doel had recently stopped after becoming convinced she was being stalked by a motorist.
On the morning of Tara’s disappearance, the youngster told her mom to come and pick her up if she hadn’t heard from her by midday, as she had plans to play tennis with her boyfriend later that afternoon.
Doel went searching along the route, and contacted police when she failed to find Tara.
Officers found parks of Tara’s broken Walkman and a cassette tape she had been listening to along the route, and believe she may have scattered the parts in an attempt to leave a trail for rescuers.
No trace of the teen, bar the photograph, has ever been found since.
The boy in the photograph next to the woman believed to be Tara has never been identified.
A further analysis of the snap by the Los Alamos National Academy cast doubts on whether it actually showed Tara, with an FBI analysis proving inconclusive.
In 2008, a local sheriff made an unfounded claim that two teenagers had accidentally hit Tara with their truck, panicked and then killed her to cover up their crime.
The FBI set up a six-person task force into the disappearance in October 2013, although no arrests have been made, and the case remains open.
A likeness of how Tara could look now was also shared by the Bureau in a bid to try and solve the case, which is one of the United States’ most notorious missing persons’ cases.
