I was hoping to not have to ask my questions, but today I started to really worry. During the last week of December, I engaged in a "stupid" act with a married man. He been married now for 34 years. He performed oral sex on me and also licked my anus. He tried to insert his penis into my vagina, but I pulled away. I am sure there was precum as I saw and felt it when I stroked his penis. He did rub his penis against my vagina and anus. He also inserted his finger into my anus. I don't know if he had precum on his hand/finger. Before putting his finger inside my anus, he left the bed, went into the bathroom to put petroleum jelly on his finger. He then returned and we continued. I performed oral sex on him for less than 20 seconds. He did not ejaculate. In fact, his penis never actually became erect. When I asked him why he wasn't getting hard, he said it is because he is an old man (he's 58 years old; he is a big guy around 250-300 lbs and I believe he's on blood pressure meds, although I'm not 100% sure). Maybe I just didn't turn him on. Within the last week, I've started to get a persistent headache. Sometimes my head hurts and other times it hurts across the bridge of my nose and when I press my face. And now, today my ears hurt. I never had a fever and no muscle aches although my shoulders feel tired (I've felt that at other times long before December). I have had migraine's my since I was in my early teens and I'm now in my 50's). I've read the low risk for oral sex, but it's the finger penetration that is continually running through my mind. I'm afraid his precum got into my anus. Today I took a test for gonorrhea, chlamydia and syphilis and expect those results back by the end of the week. He said he does not have any sexually transmitted diseases, but I don't know for sure. I do know that he has had several partners over his life time. I know I need to take a HIV test, but I have to work myself up to that. How risky was this behavior? Thank you.
This was a no-risk situation. I would not be concerned.

Hello and thank you for the forum. I had a sexual encounter with another man earlier today and have been feeling anxious all afternoon. Since I didn't have a condom, I refused to bottom for him, but I ultimately allowed him to rub his penis against my anus. I started feeling pressure and realized he was pushing his penis inside of me. I stopped him, but I am worried that he may have inserted the head of his penis into my anus for about 5-10 seconds. I have had receptive anal sex previously and do not think that he fully penetrated me, as I was not in any pain at all. Although he stated that he is tested every six months and is negative, and that he has not had sex for a long time, I still do not know him well enough to trust it. I realize there is some degree of risk for HIV infection (as well as other STIs) but am curious as to how risky this scenario seems and whether I should get tested for this and when. I've heard about PEP and rapid tests, but don't really know if this situation warrants it. Thank you!
Based on the information you have provided me, it is unlikely that transmission of HIV occurred. It's possible that you were exposed to other STIDs during this encounter, and I would suggest testing for all STD's at the 30 day mark just to be sure. If it has been more than six months since your last HIV test then I would suggest one of those as well.
This situation does not warrant PEP. The risk was not great enough. I hope this helps.

I was just told that the man I’m interested in likes anal sex. Is this common behavior for heterosexual males? I can’t seem to find any information on knowing more about anal sex beside that it is a common sexual activity. Please fill me in.
Anal sex is normal for some couples — straight or gay — and not for others. Whether you have anal sex depends on what makes you and your partner comfortable.
Most people mean anal intercourse when they think of anal sex. It happens when a man puts his penis into another person’s anus. Some men and women enjoy anal sex, and others do not. About four out of 10 people have tried anal intercourse. Other kinds of anal sex include touching the anus with hands, fingers, or the mouth.
Like unprotected vaginal sex, unprotected anal sex is high-risk for many sexually transmitted infections, such as chlamydia, gonorrhea, herpes, hepatitis, intestinal parasites, HIV, HPV, and syphilis. Use latex or internal condoms during anal intercourse to reduce the risk of sexually transmitted infections. Use Sheer Glyde dams or other plastic barriers to reduce the risk of infection when having other kinds of anal sex.
