The short version

Tebo Plates is published by Henry Vaughn ("we", "us"). It lets regulars of a local restaurant browse the menu, place orders, save favourite dishes and collect loyalty points.

The app is built to work without asking who you are. We don't require a sign-up, we don't run analytics or advertising SDKs, and we don't sell or rent any information about you.

What lives on your device

To make the app useful from visit to visit, it keeps a few things in the app's private storage on your phone:

  • Saved items : the dishes and drinks you add to your saved list.
  • Points balance and reward history : the points you've earned and the rewards you've redeemed.
  • Recent orders : a short history so you can see what you ordered and reorder it.
  • App preferences , such as the last menu category you looked at.

This data isn't uploaded to our servers. It stays on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app.

When you place an order

Placing an order means passing the order itself to the restaurant: the items, quantities, any notes you add, and the pickup or table details you enter. That information is used only to prepare and hand over your food.

Tebo Plates doesn't take card payments inside the app. You settle the bill with the restaurant, so we never see or store payment card numbers.

How points are counted

Points are added automatically when an order completes, and they're kept in your on-device loyalty record. Redeeming a reward, like a free dish or a discount on your next order, deducts points from that same record. We don't build a profile of your eating habits and we don't share your balance with anyone.

Because points are stored on your device, deleting the app or resetting your phone may erase your balance. Please keep that in mind before you uninstall.

What we don't collect

  • Precise or approximate location
  • Contacts, photos, microphone or camera data
  • Advertising identifiers or cross-app tracking data
  • Analytics events, usage profiles or crash-report IDs tied to you
  • Payment card or bank details

Device permissions

Tebo Plates may need network access to load the current menu and send an order to the restaurant. It doesn't ask for location, contacts, camera or microphone access. If a future version ever needs another permission, your operating system will ask you first, and we'll update this policy.

Third parties

We don't include third-party advertising, analytics or social-media tracking tools. The app is distributed through Apple's App Store and Google Play, and those platforms may collect information under their own privacy policies, for example when you download or update the app. We don't control that data and don't receive any personal information from it.

We will only disclose information if the law requires it, and even then we can only share what we actually hold, which is close to nothing.

Children's privacy

Tebo Plates is a general-audience app for restaurant customers. It isn't directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices and rights

You're in control of the data on your device. You can remove saved items one by one in the app, clear the app's storage in your device settings, or uninstall the app to delete everything it holds locally.

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or the CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct or delete your personal data. Since we don't hold personal data on our side, most requests can be handled right on your device. If you have a question, just write to us.

We may update this policy as the app changes. The effective date at the top will always show the latest version, and major changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
