Did you know that every year about 85 000 children are dying before the age of 5 only in Uganda? And many of them die from diseases we know how to fight. They could survive if they just would be properly vaccinated.
Shifo’s vision is a day when no child or mother dies or suffers from preventable diseases. To help in solving the issues, we have developed a system which recognises papers and turns them into statistics for the Ministries of Health, helping them make data-driven decisions the same way fully-digital countries do, but without having required infrastructure in place. As shown by independent evaluations, the system does it’s job, and we now need to make sure it is scalable and simple enough for the countries to support it without our participation. And to achieve this we need to make sure the Shifo Tech Teamwork processes are constantly improving, staying healthy and efficient.

- Guide and coach team members to help them grow
- Drive and improve our technical processes to make sure Shifo is the best place to work.
- Work closely with the product managers to make sure the systems made by the tech teams are the ones they want
- Provide technical expertise to help team members do the right decisions.
Requirements
- Solid leadership experience, openness and humbleness
- Solid experience and passion in software development
- Desire to coach and help others
- Experience in hiring and managing teams
- Advanced English communication skills
Tech stack
We work with different technologies, the main ones Pandas, Django, OpenCV, Postgres, Vue.JS, Kotlin and Electron. We don’t expect you to have experience of working with all of these, just the desire to get to know them.
