Blizzard Tavern - Overwatch - Alexa Skill
A subreddit to promote and discuss Alexa skills, Amazons home assistant's apps.
For those that are fans of the Overwatch game, I've developed an Alexa Skill for Overwatch that has a fun tavern like experience for Overwatch that has a couple of features:
Hear about your personal Overwatch stats
Ask the skill to pick a random hero for you based on role. The feature gives you the ability to hear about the heroes abilities and description if you prefer.
Hear about upcoming Overwatch League matches or recent matches that has occurred.
Hear about your favorite teams current standings.
In order to use the skill you will need to have an alexa-enabled device such as an Echo Dot or Echo Show. To launch the skill just say "Alexa, enable blizzard tavern" or "Alexa, open blizzard tavern". You will need to link your battle.net account to the skill since the skill uses your battletag to retrieve your Overwatch stats and personalize the experience for you. Currently, the skill is only available for language US - English but looking to open it up for more countries/languages soon. The wifi issue could be a bandwidth issue with your internet equipment or router. When was the last time you updated your router. If it is more than 3 years old that may be the issue. Get a dual band Cisco or Linksye router. If it is wireless it is possible the signal is having trouble going through the walls. Change one of the bands to 2.4ghz and put the echo devices on that network.
So you will have two networks set up in the router. One a 5 ghz and one at 2.4 ghz.
Echos go on 2.4 ghz. Everything else except smart lights and bridge on 5 ghz.
this assumes your router is a dual band wireless router.

As you reach the center of this opening you suddenly hear a snarl from behind. As you look behind you not one, not two, but three Werewolf’s are there looking directly at you!. You start running when the Werewolf’s start charging you down and as your running you see a light in the distance?. You wonder what that could be and start towards it. As you get closer a light gray barrier appears for a split second as you hit it and the Werewolf’s seem to have stopped chasing you!. You wonder why this is but don’t think much of it, When you reach the entrance of this strange building you see a sign saying welcome and without thinking you enter this mysterious place
Ah new patrons I see!, I won’t ask how you made it to the B.C era so come come sit wherever you’d like this is the Witches Tavern and it’s positivily packed tonight!, I’m your hostess Mary and I’m a Witch
It is a time of ghouls and goblins, creatures of mythology roam the Earth and travelers seldom survive!. I have brought my Tavern here to help good folks such as yourself!. But I am but a humble Witch trying to make a living
I have food and drink if your in need of either!, but whatever I give I have a price and the more I give the harsher my price will be
Maybe I’ll take an ear or finger maybe a tongue or perhaps an eye?
Or perhaps it’s not food or drink your after but a wish?. Or perhaps you have a fortune that you want told?
But don’t forget I may be a giving Witch but nothing is ever truly free!

I feel like you’d lose a lot of customers if you implemented this idea

I would get something to eat too…but I’m not vegan.
The word cringe gets overused but this fits the bill. Completely irrelevant to Overwatch as well.
Just because its the Overwatch forums doesn’t mean I have to make my thread Overwatch related. It’s a time of ghouls and goblins!!! Halloween is upon us and so is the event too
