We set up our space, put on some music, and got to work. The energy was light, fun, and full of anticipation — even though we both knew it was going to be a long session. My wife was tough, but the last stretch was going to be the hardest.

That’s when the numbing cream came out. I applied it carefully, giving her a little relief and allowing us to finish the intricate details. It was funny in a way — numbing cream, a glowing chrysanthemum, and laughter echoing through the studio. By the end of the night, the petals were done, the center vibrant, and we both felt a deep sense of accomplishment. We still have to add the bright whites and final highlights, but the piece already feels electric.
