I ask here again now, cause I still got no answer:

All people say something different which ammo is better... So I do some research and it looks like some sort of ammo have not always the same DMG and AP. Can somebody tell me how this works? Is it just Random or is there a system behind or am I completely wrong? I trust tarkovballistics in most cases...

A system behind bullet penetration or a system behind DMG? You may need to be a little more specific.

If i read this correctly; There is a chance for most (If not all) ammo to penetrate, there is a percentage basically, some ammo have a higher penetration chance, there is also armor damage and regular damage values aswell. So some ammo types are better at penetrating armor, others are better at killing unarmed targets and some are better at destroying armor.

@nachtmaere Sorry my English is not so perfect. Yes that is what I wanted to know. Is there a way to find out which one have higher penetration chance? So maybe more velocity = more chance? Or can I maybe see it in the description like 9x18 PBM ammo?

There are a variety of different google docs and i think a wiki page somewhere that can provide you with this information regarding bullets... Lemme see if i can find one...

there is a system behind, tarkovballistics is a usefull tool/table to get an otherview about all different rounds

but you also have to see the site is non official and they get their data just from gameplay

what they did is basicly shot on each other and listing the taken damage in a table, problem with this, they didnt do this 100x with each round and armor, because it would be insane much work to do.

so they got no exact values for penetrationchances because they cant calculate it out of their small amount of data.

but their is a penetrationchance multiplier for sure, the only problem with this, nobody tells you exact how it works, because nobody knows for sure. Ok Devs do, but they didnt told anything to the plublic yet.

Kleanup was talking about an official datatable for the ammo, but dont know how far they are with this, or if it even gets realized...

what i can tell you by myself/personal experience, i use most of the time BS 5.45 and i would say each 3rd bullet goes trough Fortarmor, so if i hit somebody 4-6 times in the chest , usually he is dead then

so that would be an penetrationchance somewhere around 30% for BS on Fortarmor, so if you are rly rly lucky you can 2 tap somebody in the chest and pickup the nearly undamaged fortarmor (allready did this a few times, but its rare)

so to come back to your question, which ammo is better, i would say HP against scavs, PRS against Paca and BS against Fortarmor, there is not the one and always best ammotype in tarkov, contains on the enemy

Some information on different calibers of ammunition there, find it a LITTLE less user friendly than the one i usually use but HEAVILY informative.

Sorry i couldn't locate the one i usually use.

I've finally finished the new penetration tables and ammo reference chart, as well as their new home.
The old IMGUR post is still up but everything is removed except a comment redirecting to the new google doc.
If you have any comments or suggestions please leave them here, I did my best to make it easily readable but I'm not the best at that sort of thing, so any suggestions are appreciated.
Is there anyway I could download this? The export options are disabled and I'd like to make a few readability changes, i.e. making the top row with the titles scroll, etc.
Why dont you just copy paste into, whatever program you use. Worked for me into open office.
If someone can tell me a way to do it without giving everyone editing permissions then yeah I'd be glad to :/

and it looks like M995 is still the only viable one.
If I may ask, how much damage does a round lose if it pens? For example, can BS, which deals 80 damage, 2 shot the chest after penning Gen 4?
Any round will loose a % of the damage upon penetration (as long as the armor isn't 0 durability)
So even if you wear paca and get shot by BS, the armor will still block some of the damage.
Is it me or is it kinda broken? Incredibly easy to get (played my first few raids on labs yesterday and already have 5 stacks) and it basically ignores all armor levels?

One has to wonder how the game would play if fragmentation was working as 'stated', seems low AP rounds would have potential to really chunk limbs in a rng manner. But it seems to have been broken for so long is anyone even sure it's not intentional anymore as a balance point?
