Taylour Paige (born October 5, 1990) is an American actress and dancer. She is best known for her role as Ahsha Hayes in the VH1 series Hit the Floor (2013–2018). [1] Taylour is also best known for her stand out performances in the SXSW film Jean of the Joneses (2016), directed by Stella Meghie for which The Hollywood reporter and LA Times praised her performance, and for her role as "Cathy Volsan-Curry" in Sony's White Boy Rick (2018), directed by Yann Demange. She is the leading actress biographical comedy-drama film Zola (2020) directed by Janicza Bravo. In the same year, she would also appeared as a young girlfriend of Chadwick Boseman 's last film Ma Rainey's Black Bottom (2020). She is also the leading actress in the Boogie (2021), directed by Eddie Huang .
She was a dancer in the music video of " She Came to Give It to You " by Usher ft. Nicki Minaj .
Paige was born to parents Reginald Paige [2] and Cheryl Boutte. [3] Paige grew up in the Inglewood, California , a suburb of Los Angeles . She has an older brother, Travis. Paige has been dancing since the age of 2. She started training at Katnap in Venice , Westside Ballet Academy, and later spent two consecutive summers at the Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington, DC . In 2001, she became a student of celebrity choreographer Debbie Allen . That same year, she auditioned for Allen's Pearl , and went on to be featured in every musical presented by the troupe from 2001-2009. In a rehearsal for Allen's Alex In Wonderland , Allen invited television producer Stan Rogow . He helped Paige launch her acting career.
She attended St. Bernard Catholic High School in Playa del Rey where she graduated in 2008. There she was also featured in every performing arts performance. Taylour became a Los Angeles Laker Girl in 2010, [4] and spent three months with the professional cheerleading squad before leaving to finish college and pursue her acting career. As a Laker Girl, she was featured in a special by Fox Sports on the making of the 2011 Laker Girls Calendar. [5] She is a graduate of Loyola Marymount University . She continues to work and train with Allen.
Paige has been featured in commercials for Transamerica , Best Buy , and McDonald's commercials as well as an Adidas printed advertisement, and in a Just Dance 3 interstitial.
