A six-foot-eight woman said she is so tall that she struggles to get into cabs and even uses specific doors on the subway to ensure she gets enough headroom.
Katja Bavendam, 31, from New York , told the New York Post that people approach her on the street asking her about her life because of her height and she is significantly taller than her wife Julie, who is five-foot-two.
The traffic engineer at an urban planning firm is one of six women from across America set to feature in season two of TLC's My Giant Life , which premieres on Tuesday.

Close fit: Katja, who is considering having a baby with Julie, who is five-foot-two, uses specific doors on the subway to ensure she has enough headroom
Katja, who grew up in Germany and moved to Manhattan five years ago, said the pitfalls of her unusual height include having to pay for extra legroom on flights, avoiding long bus trips and long shows or plays.
'Cabs are tight, the regular [ones]. I hail whatever stops by, but that’s definitely uncomfortable,' she told the New York Post.
'The subway, I usually get in at the middle door because at the end of the car there’s the AC units, so there’s less headroom.
'When it’s really crowded...if I turn around and make a wrong move, I literally elbow people in the face, and I don’t want to do that.'
Other negatives include sleeping arrangements - her studio apartment only has room for a full-size bed.
On the plus side, she said she enjoys an unblocked view at concerts and has her 'own bubble and breathing room'.

Katja is not the only tall member of her family. Her mother is six foot and her sister and father both measure six-foot-three.
Explaining her decision to go on the show, she said she gets so much attention on the street and online for her height that she feels like a 'public person' already so she may as well enjoy it.
She said she does not get annoyed by people's obsession with her height - claiming she finds it 'fascinating'.
In the show, she tests out a fake pregnancy bump as she reveals the couple are 'starting to think about having babies' and she says 'the biological clock is starting to tick'.
When she asked Julie 'are you just going to go to a bar and hook up with somebody?' She answered: 'Well that's probably the cheapest way.'
There are five other unusually tall women featured in the show.

Haleigh, 24, from Huntington Beach, California, faces problems in her marriage as she is forced to choose between her husband, who is much shorter and 32, and her family.
Six-foot-nine Nancy, 18, from Cypress,Texas, is facing difficulties in her senior year of high school as she attempts to become a basketball star.
Lindsay, from Los Angeles, is six foot nine and considering plastic surgery to achieve her dream of working in television and film.
Six-foot-six Lexie, from Phoenix, Arizona, said she is faced with constant flirting from other men - despite plans to marry her fiance who is stationed more than 2,000 miles away.
