As stand-up comics and a couple, Cameron Esposito and Rhea Butcher have parallel challenges with comedy: Cameron experiences the lonely side of stand-up, while Rhea struggles to balance her passion and her day job. Their mysterious neighbor offers some unexpected advice.
Onstage and offstage, entirely within a single performance of their weekly stand-up show, Cameron and Rhea wrangle the chaos that comes with hosting a bunch of comics. This episode gives a first-person view into those things a live stand-up audience doesnβt get to see.
In her newfound free time, Rhea finds increasingly silly reasons to avoid focusing on comedy. Cameron gets some harsh lessons in stand-up while opening for a big-deal headlining comic on tour.
Cameron and Rhea discuss their future, and get in over their heads babysitting an infant. While Cameron and Dave try to get out of trouble one way, Rhea finds help from Frances, their eccentric neighbor.
Cameron begins coaching a famous actress on how play a comic, but finds out the actress has other ideas. After a financial disaster, Rhea secretly returns to her old job.
When Cameron is tempted by Melina the actress, and Rhea has to confront her student loan debt, they face a big decision together. Their neighbor Frances offers more surprising insight.

I honestly can't think of a time where there was a realistic lesbian couple on TV. What made this show for me was the sweetness of the main characters' real relationship and their debriefs with each other, and how they look at each other. I think this will help so many young people know what they want in a world that doesn't offer queer people a lot of scripts. There was a moment when they were driving home together in the dark in the last episode and I got a feeling the car was going to crash and one of them was going to die and then I remembered they promised at the beginning that NO LESBIAN WOULD DIE AND THEY DIDN'T and I'm so grateful for that. This was so affirming to watch.
Comedy featuring real life spouses Cameron Esposito and Rhea Butcher. As a gay viewer, I find the show relatable in terms of the couple's relationship. But for you other viewers, don't worry, things are pretty tame in the intimacy department, so it's family friendly. Also there's not a bunch of cursing which is refreshing. It's also not hyper political, though feminist themes come up but not in a buzz kill way. The show reminds me of an up to the minute version of the classic "Lucy" show. There's a quirky artsy neighbor who is pretty wise and sees what's going on and gives insights. She's a hoot and will appeal to all audiences. There's a best friend who provides unconditional acceptance and breathing space for up and coming comic Rhea. The show deals with financial issues between couples, relatable for everyone, balancing your day job with your night job, work crush temptations, and jumping through hoops getting ready for parents visit. On that note, I would like to have seen the parents actually show up for the visit. It's a short show, and that may not be where the comedy gold is, so I give them a pass. The show has been picked up for a second season, so they must be doing something right. And as the couple has themselves expressed , No One Dies! Lesbians are always killers or get murdered in the movies or television. What is that thing? I strongly recommend this show.
This is well worth the watch even if you aren't a queer lady. But as a gay woman can say that I am always hopeful yet nervous to watch a show with anyone from the LGBTQ community, because unfortunately it doesn't usually go very well for many reasons. So I was very happy to see that the story and these characters exceed my expectation, by a lot. I got to laugh so many times and think, "My wife and I do that all the time." I like this show because it was great to see a positive representation of lesbian couple that was both funny and dealt with real issues. I also really got into their type of comedy. The vast majority of stand-up comics that I have been exposed to are pretty brash and often overly energetic, not that that is a bad thing, but the humor on the show is more relaxed and intelligent and I really liked that. I'm definitely looking forward to the second season.
A breath of fresh air! Two very charming comedians, with real chemistry (yes, they're married IRL - added bonus, IMO!) This show is delightful to watch. And it's really great to see a story line featuring two gay characters where the focus isn't their sexuality, and indeed, their sexuality is treated as a matter of course (by them AND the characters surrounding them) and as merely part of their identity versus the whole of it. Can't wait to see what comes next - fingers crossed we get a season 2!
I hope this show comes back for a second season. Tightly written and I'm sure it will get even better once they work out a few things. Rea is a stunning beautiful woman, and her naturalness will serve her well in her upcoming acting career. the camera loves her face. Her acting style is very natural and I'm sure with time it will only get better. Of course Cameron is wonderful too, and their chemistry is really coming across sincerely and naturally. Please do a season 2! This show has a lot of promise. And Great new premise. Finally a show about comedy and comics that is actually told through the lens of someone that might actually know something about it. Comedians! YAY. Well done kids!
This is a great show. This is not a show for people who don't like shows that are uncomplicated or "quietly funny." Rhea and Cameron are showing what life is like for real couples, and showing what life is like for real lesbian couples. Not that I would know, first hand but I will definitely take their word for it. Also, they're very funny and genuine seeming people and that also makes me happy. My husband listened while I was watching (he's playing video games) and he chuckled a few times. I hope they continue the show. :)
This show is both hilarious and heartfelt, which is great. What makes it even better is that the heartfelt moments work together with the comedy, instead of blunting its edge. Watch the show. The worst thing you could say about it is that there's not enough of it, since the whole first season is only six episodes long.
Thank God for this show! Finally a show that is centered around a two lesbians in a normal loving relationship. Displays the point of view of not only lesbian women, but how women in general sometimes get treated in a patriarchal world, and men dominated industry. I cant wait for season 2, these two have ALL my support with the amazing work they're doing, which goes beyond a sitcom into breaking stereotypes and showing the world lesbians are people too!

During the guy's poker game, the wives get a deal on a couples-only vacation to the Bahamas, although Quagmire discovers that this leaves him out. To watch the kids, Lois arranges for her father to stay at their home. On departure day, Quagmire shows up with his new girlfriend Kimi and Lois agrees to allow them to come.
Arriving, they settle in but discover that the resort is actually a relationship counseling retreat. The guys are upset at being tricked and only participate halfheartedly. The counselor Noel determines that the couples are poorly matched and decides to change them to new pairings, which actually works out well for some, although other partners get jealous, particularly Lois over Kimi's paring with Peter and demands to leave just as a revolt breaks out and Noel is killed, sending them running for safety, with Peter accidentally shooting down a passing plane that he tries to signal.
Eventually, they are all captured and threatened with execution as they discover they are not as compatible as they believed. They are led out two-by-two and led out as gunshots are heard. As Peter and Lois are the last ones left, they admit their love for each other as they are led out and gunshots are heard. They suddenly find out that it was all staged to help couples find their true love and everything is alright.
Meanwhile, the kids are all occupied with their electronic devices and ignore Carter. He puts his foot down and takes away their devices and insists on showing them how to have fun the old fashioned way. He tries to take them swimming, play jacks and exercise but they are not receptive to the idea. But after Carter teaches them old-fashioned pranks which go over well, they start to get into the spirit of things. However, after Peter and Lois return from their trip, the kids resist the lure of the television only momentarily before they are hooked again.
