I have a one year old daughter, and I have taken her to plenty of play dates to the malls baby playground. While there, I have met some awesome moms, and became pretty closed with one of them in particular. I recently went out with her for a few drinks, and she made a phone called and invited out her partner (we were using a shared baby sitter). When he got there, there was an uncanny resemblance to the two. I didn't say anything. About an hour into it, we all got pretty buzzed, and she told me all about it. They are twins! She said growing up they both felt some sort of pang in their hearts, and never said anything until the brother (older) went off to college. He came home on holiday, and she revealed her feelings, and the rest is history. They now have a 4 year old, and 1 year old.
I know everyone is entitled to their own relationships, and as long as they're consenting adults, it's not my business. I hate to say it, and I feel awful, but this is giving me the creeps. As the night went on they were making out and I wanted to die inside just watching. I quietly faked a phone call and left. I have seen her since, and I do truly enjoy her friendship, but idk why I feel so uncomfortable every time she now talks about him.
Would you ever be able to stay friends with someone who was in an incestious relationship? Even though it was consensual? How would I ever explain this to my daughter when the time comes? Idk where else I'm going with this.. Thoughts?
It would weird me out if it actually happened to me though. I doubt I could be friends actually. I don't think you're supposed to look at your friend and be skeeved out.
How is the brother older and went off to college first if they are twins? I'm no expert, but aren't twins *usually* born minutes apart?
Your story is unbelievable. It is highly unlikely that a person in a consensual, incestuous relationship is going to share that with someone they have known for less than a year. Incest is illegal and there is a good chance that they would lose their children if it was reported. They would know that and would not be sharing that information with you.
I wouldn't be friends with someone who would be making out with their partner in front of me, let alone anything else.
