TableGrab — Privacy Policy
TableGrabTableGrab is a Chrome extension that extracts tables and card listings from web pages and exports them as CSV or clipboard text. This page explains what it does with your data.
Last updated 28 October 2026.
TableGrab reads the page you are looking at, turns what it finds into a file, and stops there. Nothing is uploaded, and there is no server to upload it to.
What TableGrab handles
When you click the toolbar icon, TableGrab reads the visible content of the tab you are on — table cells, card text, link addresses and image addresses — so it can show you a preview and build a CSV. This happens entirely inside your browser tab.
That content is never sent anywhere. TableGrab has no backend, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting and no accounts. There is nothing to sign up for.
What is stored on your device
Licence state. A single flag in chrome.storage.local recording whether Pro is active. No identifier is attached to it.
Crawl state. While a multi-page capture is running, the rows gathered so far and the page it is on are kept in the tab's sessionStorage. This is what lets the capture survive a page reload. It is cleared when you press Clear, and it disappears when the tab closes.
Both live in your browser profile. Neither is transmitted, and uninstalling TableGrab removes them.
Permissions, and why each one exists
- Read the current tab. Granted only when you click the icon. TableGrab has no standing access to your browsing and cannot read tabs you have not opened it on.
- Downloads. Used for one thing: saving the CSV file you asked for.
- Clipboard. Used only when you press Copy, to place the table on your clipboard.
- Site access, on request. Auto-pagination turns pages, which reloads the tab. You are asked once per site, at the moment you start a capture, and the grant can be revoked at any time from Chrome's site settings.
Third parties
TableGrab does not share data with anyone, because it does not collect any. There are no third-party scripts, fonts or trackers in the extension.
If a paid tier is enabled in a future version, payment is handled by ExtensionPay and Stripe on their own pages. In that case Stripe receives your payment details and ExtensionPay receives an installation identifier and your paid status; TableGrab itself would still receive nothing about your browsing or your exported data. This build has no paid tier enabled.
What TableGrab cannot see
Browser-internal pages, the Chrome Web Store, other extensions, closed shadow roots and cross-origin frames are outside what any extension can read, and TableGrab does not try.
Children
TableGrab is a general-purpose utility with no content of its own. It is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date above changes with it. Anything that would widen what TableGrab can reach would appear as a new permission prompt in Chrome, which you would have to approve.
