TabScribe Privacy Policy
TabScribePublisher: AIEnabler
This policy describes TabScribe 1.0.0, a Chrome extension for transcribing audio from a user-selected tab, copying passages, and downloading transcripts.
Data TabScribe handles
TabScribe processes audio from the tab on which you invoke its toolbar action. This may contain meeting conversations and other website audio. It generates transcript text and keeps the selected tab's ID and title to identify the capture target. It does not collect a list of your browsing history or scrape page contents. The Chrome Web Store disclosure includes website content, personal communications, and web history because the extension handles audio, conversations, and the selected tab's title.
If you permit microphone access and leave “Include my microphone in the saved file” enabled, TabScribe also transcribes microphone audio. That option is enabled by default, but Chrome permission is required. Microphone text is included only in the downloaded transcript, not in the live meeting transcript or Copy. Tab transcription works without microphone permission.
Record only conversations you are authorized to transcribe. Audio and transcripts may contain personal or sensitive information depending on what participants say.
On-device and optional cloud recognition
“On-device only” is enabled by default. In that mode, Chrome processes the audio on your device using its speech-recognition engine. Chrome may download a speech-language model before first use.
Cloud recognition is an explicit choice, not an automatic fallback. If you disable “On-device only” or choose “Use cloud instead,” Chrome sends the recognition audio to Google's speech-recognition service. This also applies to microphone recognition when you have enabled and permitted it. Google operates that service and handles the associated network data under its own terms and privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy. AIEnabler does not control Google's processing or retention.
TabScribe does not operate its own transcription server, automatically upload transcripts to an AI chat, load remote extension code, or include advertising or analytics.
Storage and retention
Preferences, microphone-permission status, and window size are stored locally in Chrome extension storage, not Chrome sync storage. These settings persist between browser sessions.
Transcript text is held in memory and Chrome session storage for recovery and transfers between the sidebar and transcript window. It is not a permanent transcript archive. Session storage is cleared when Chrome fully exits; disabling, reloading, or updating the extension may also clear it. Download important transcripts before those actions.
TabScribe does not create saved audio recordings. Download creates a plain-text transcript file on your device. Copy writes the selected passage or meeting transcript to your clipboard. Downloaded files, clipboard history, backups, and copies pasted into other applications are controlled by you, your operating system, and those applications, not by TabScribe.
“Clear screen” only hides text and does not delete the transcript. “Delete transcript” clears the active transcript; the current view may retain the most recent deletion for Undo. Closing a view is not the same as clearing Chrome's session storage. Fully exit Chrome to clear session-held recovery and transfer data. Remove downloaded files and other copies separately if you no longer need them.
Use and sharing
TabScribe uses the data it handles only to provide its transcription, copying, downloading, and recovery functions. AIEnabler does not sell user data, use or transfer it for unrelated purposes, or use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes. The optional transfer to Google's speech-recognition service supports the transcription function and occurs only when you choose cloud recognition.
You control whether and where to share copied or downloaded transcripts. If you send a transcript to an AI provider or another service yourself, that service's privacy policy applies.
Your controls and contact
You can stop transcription, disable microphone inclusion, revoke microphone permission through Chrome, keep “On-device only” enabled, delete the active transcript, and uninstall the extension. Uninstalling removes extension-local settings; downloaded files and copies outside the extension remain under your control.

Changes
If TabScribe's data practices change, this policy and the Chrome Web Store disclosures will be updated to reflect those practices.
