Really am amazed at the high quality of these pictures. I'm able to get the most detail from these pictures than anywhere else I've looked over the years on the internet. Certainly better than my VHS copies. ;)
For years this scene gave a clearer look, or at least brighter look, to the Galaxy of Terror scene. But put with such goofy sounds and music.
A great follow-up scene. As Roger Corman would say in the production"Milk the tits". Get Taaffe back in this scene so we could have a little more Taaffe. We always wonder why Dameia was rolled on her side like this. Would have been more logical, and more fun for the audience, if she was simply on her back. For what the scene was, and I know this will sound strange, there was a certain amount of modesty given. I say that after having seen even more graphic scenes since. But then again, those other scenes were unrated and this was trying to keep at a "R" rating.
This is a favorite scene of mine. It was revealed with the DVD/Blue-ray release from Shout Factory that the scene had a body double. I believe that body double was Iya Labunka who also did the prosthetics fabrication (ie. the severed arm). Galaxy of Terror was her first listed film project in 1981 and her career continues clear up to 2011 as Producer of Scream 4. One talented and beautiful woman.
