Torque Transmission Mechanism Adjustment

Torque Transmission Mechanism Adjustment

TIAGLIN NEWS

The W.E.T.E.R project team has presented updates on the wind turbine design and the reengineering of the torque transmission mechanism.

As part of the improvements, the layout of the generator units has been changed: they have been moved from the lower part of the structure to the upper section and placed inside the turbine contour. This solution has increased safety, simplified transportation, and made the system more compact and technologically efficient.

Special attention has been given to the transmission system. At the current stage, a classical gear engagement is used, however, a transition to a magnetic energy transmission system is planned in the future. This will eliminate mechanical contact, reduce energy losses, decrease wear, and improve the reliability of the system for year-round operation.

The turbine design is based on a modular principle: each unit is an independent block that can be scaled in height and power. Accessible materials such as steel and aluminum are used, while certain components are produced using 3D printing for precise adjustment and optimization.

Additional work is being carried out to optimize aerodynamics: the shape and angle of the blades are being adjusted, as well as the parameters of airflow inside the structure. This will increase energy generation efficiency across a wide range of conditions, including variable and strong winds.

The project continues to actively develop, combining engineering solutions and scientific calculations to create an efficient and scalable power generation system.
