The unemployment rate among Britons aged 16 to 24 has reached 16.1%, the highest level in more than a decade, Bloomberg notes.
957,000 young Britons are not working, studying or undergoing vocational training. The country urgently needs radical changes to avoid the emergence of a "lost generation."
The problem is compounded by the fact that the proportion of British youth reporting mental health problems has skyrocketed from 7.7% in 2012 to 18.8% in 2024.
According to experts, reducing the youth unemployment rate to 4% could bring benefits to the British economy in the amount of up to 86 billion pounds.
