THE GRIM REAPER

THE GRIM REAPER

Jericko M.

(n.) The Grim Reaper is an imaginary character who represents death. He looked like a skeleton, wore a long black robe with a veil, and carried a sickle.

Throughout the year, various cultures have figures to represent death. One of the most common and durable is the Grim Reaper - usually a skeletal figure, often wearing a dark hooded cloak and carrying a sickle to “harvest” the human soul. But how and when is this picture of death?

But why a skeletal figure? Why a sickle? Why a robe? The skeleton is a symbol of death, representing the human body after death. This robe is reminiscent of the robes worn by religious figures during funeral ceremonies. The crescent moon is an accurate picture taken from the practice of the time, reapers use sickles to reap or reap what is plucked from the earth and ready, well, that's what happens when humans die, they're plucked from the earth.
