Our client is a startup data vendor that raised a significant amount of money and pays generously to its employees. Currently, they are looking for a System Engineer who has outstanding experience in working with bare-metal environments. 

Our client uses a modern stack, hybrid infrastructure with self-hosted servers and AWS CDN, 3 data centres and multiple tier 1 network providers, 4.8 PB of storage on-site. They invest heavily in infrastructure, and this position is literally the core of the company, with high impact. They built a chill team with no assholes and no politics, and we care about work-life balance. Some of their interests include playing board games, watching anime, skiing, playing with pets, raising a family, and much more.

You'll report to the CTO and work closely across engineering, product, and design. You’ll work in your timezone and participate in short standups at the client’s timezone (2 times a week at ate hour).

Requirements:

• Cumulus, Mellanox switches, OSPF, BGP, Puppet / Ansible / Salt
• Familiar with 25/50/100G and optics for them
• Virtualized routers, VXLANs, VPLS/MPLS
• Extra plus if they know layer 7 eg reverse proxies like traefik or haproxy and layer 4 load balancing
• Bonus if they've dealt with multiple IP transit providers in excess of 10G, private peering
• Extra plus also if they've had experience with both small and big networks
• Minus if their resume is just a spaghetti of keywords and acronyms (Happens a lot from low end network eng applicants)
• Good oral and written English is a must
