SuAnne Big Crow (March 15, 1974 - February 9, 1992) was an American basketball player for the 1989 South Dakota champion Pine Ridge High School team. A member of the Oglala Lakota Oyate, she was born and raised on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in southwestern South Dakota, and died as a teenager in a car accident. [1]
SuAnne Big Crow was a superb basketball player who scored 2,541 points while starring at Pine Ridge High School. Her legacy of promoting cultural understanding and goodwill among all people has been felt across South Dakota since her death at age 17 from a car accident on Feb. 9, 1992.
