The 70-year-old actress hit the red carpet at the Cannes Opening Night Gala on Wednesday looking every inch the Hollywood starlet.
Despite the event hosting the usual flesh-flashing millennials, the real star (or should we say “stars”) of the evening were, without question, Susan’s fantastic boobs.
Let me present you with exhibits A and B.
Sitting perfectly encased by green velvet in the form of a stunning Alberta Ferretti gown, her breasts took on their own persona.
They screamed: “You can look but don’t touch.” And that is a lesson for us all.
Susan does not look like mutton dressed as lamb.
She is not dressed in a cheap, over-the-top frock cut down to the navel in a bid to try to compete with the twentysomethings.
Models Bella Hadid, 20, and Emily Ratajkowski, 25, who were also in attendance, could learn a thing or two from the older, wiser and, dare I say it, sexier Susan Sarandon.
Susan oozes a confidence that should be an inspiration to women everywhere.
Sashaying down the red carpet with her diva-style sunglasses and tousled hair, she is the one I want to look like, not the latest leggy supermodels who faded into the background.
The Thelma And Louise star said last year: “I feel just as sexy as I did when I was younger — more so, in fact.
“I see old pictures of myself and I prefer the way I look now because I’ve had more life.”
Indeed, let’s not forget that this divine decolletage has not had an easy ride.
Having given birth to three children, Susan would have tackled breastfeeding and constant hormone changes, so most of us would assume it might have all gone a bit south by now.
For anyone who saw the Cannes photographs and rolled their eyes in disgust, I am rolling my eyes right back at you.
What is any woman with an ample-sized chest to do?
Susan can’t strap those puppies down and hide them away just because you think a woman of her age should be more conservative.
Her confidence and attitude should be celebrated.
Last year, she wore a white suit with just a black lacy bra underneath to the SAG Awards and was met with criticism on social media.
I can only hope that I will age just as well as she has.
From here on in, I will be channelling my inner Susan: I will be sassy, confident — and investing in a better push-up bra immediately.

I used to be a fan. What woman didn’t watch the ultimate chick-flick Thelma And Louise – on repeat – and wish that Sarandon’s sassy, smart Louise was her BFF?
We took that film to our hearts because we knew Susan embodied that character and would have our backs. No longer.
Her career has gone south and while some actresses might retire gracefully, not our Susan. Last year the droopy girls were first on display at the appropriately named SAG Awards. The sight of those milk-coloured, liver-spotted boobs should have remained between her and her mammogram technician only.
Job done, though.
It got her back in the headlines.
Susan, you might love the girls and your bloke doubtless appreciates them too.
But as for the rest of the world? For the love of God, put them away.

There were some douche lords who thought they’d be clever and incorporate the name of the award ceremony into criticising Sarandon’s efforts, insinuating that she had SAGgy cleavage.

See what they did there? Ha ha ha ha ha ha. NO shut up now. Also, I thoroughly disagree, her breasts are nowhere near her belly button, the definitive indicator that boobs have given into gravity.

But I think we need to work towards a time where people aren’t shocked that women over the age of 50 are still powerful and if they choose to be, sexual beings. I think we need to stop congratulating women for looking younger than they are, like it’s some kind of ultimate life prize. Obviously Susan looked fierce by anyone’s standards.
Honestly I’m torn. Because part of me wants to yell: “You go girl” at Susan and poke with wondrous awe at her breasts. The other part wants to go about my business, maintaining eye contact with her at all times, never allowing my gaze to wander southward to her magnificent bumps. STOP IT EM.
By the way, because we were all so focused on Susan’s cans we totally missed the real hero of the red carpet. Carol Burnett wore slippers because she gives zero f**ks about what you or the fashion police think.
