Surfd WR Line: privacy policy

Surfd WR Line is a browser extension for the game at surfd.net. It draws other players' recorded runs (from surfd.net's public leaderboards) and your own personal best as lines and ghosts inside the game, and shows the inputs those runs used.

What the extension reads

• Public leaderboard data from surfd.net: map list, leaderboards, player rank lists, public player profiles and recorded runs, through the same public API the game uses. Requests are sent without cookies or credentials.
• The game's state on the page while you play on surfd.net: your position, speed, view angle, run timer and the game's settings (such as your key bindings), read from the page every frame to draw the lines and to compare your movement with the selected run.
• Your keyboard and mouse input on surfd.net while the game has captured the mouse, to show your current keys and turn rate next to the recorded run's. Nothing is read on any other site.
• Your surfd.net account id, only if you are signed in to surfd.net: read from the game's login data in the page's local storage, to look up your own public personal best on the public leaderboard. The extension does not read or use your password or access token.

What it stores, and where

All of it stays in your browser, on your device:

• your extension settings (localStorage on surfd.net),
• simulated lines of the runs you looked at, as a cache so they load faster next time (Cache Storage on surfd.net),
• the full input recording of your own fastest finished runs, and replay files you import, to draw your personal best (IndexedDB on surfd.net).

You can remove all of it by clearing the site data for surfd.net in your browser, or by uninstalling the extension.

What it sends

Nothing to the developer or to any third party. The extension has no server, no analytics, no tracking and no ads. Its only network requests are read requests to surfd.net's public API and public files (map geometry, recorded runs, the game's own physics script), the same ones the game makes itself.

It does not sell, transfer or share any data, does not use it for any purpose other than the features described above, and does not use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending.
