What's on-trend for summer when it comes to sexy lingerie ? Certain lingerie styles, colours and fabrics are always a winner in the warmer months. Get summer ready with popular summer lingerie. Sexy lingerie tends to be super popular in Winter ... I guess we just like to get cosy when it's cold. But that certainly doesn't mean we can't wear super tempting underwear styles in Summer too! Here are our top tips on how to wear seductive lingerie styles in the heat and our most popular summer lingerie trends. If you want to start shopping for your next summer look, then browse here.
White, as we know, will always remain a popular colour for summer. It makes sense that everyone gravitates towards white lingerie in the heat. In Summer, fashion becomes lighter and brighter so you need the lingerie to match. If you are wearing a white dress or white top when you go out this Summer, you will need a white bra to go underneath. Or maybe you love a pair of white trousers for Summer? We would recommend white briefs or a white thong to go with it. White lingerie can be a practical godsend in the hot months so this is a Summer lingerie trend to jump on. The Obsessive 3 Piece Set in white is a Summer dream! It's sexy but also soft and comfy too. Or opt for a sexy set that feels like luxury with the Aubade Viktor & Rolf The Bow Collection .
When the heatwave hits, you need to stay cool. We all love to be out in the Summer sun but the last thing you need is your lingerie irritating you or the dreaded boob sweat. So to avoid the uncomfy feelings that kill your vibe, opt for sexy lingerie which is comfy. You are in luck when it comes to Summer comfort as Sexy Belle has a selection of super soft and comfy lingerie. But don't worry comfort doesn't mean frumpy. You can still find seductive, Summer-ready styles that feel great to wear. Obsessive lingerie is ideal for Summer as it is made from soft lace and smooth materials which are always lightweight. The same applies to Dreamgirl . Another great choice for Summer lingerie is Coco De Mer. This brand is premium so the materials will never irritate the skin. Many of their lingerie styles are non-wired and soft cup too, making them extra comfy. Coco De Mer also tends to be lightweight because it's barely there ... this brand is super sexy because it uses minimal fabric.
Jump on this year's biggest trend for Summer ... lingerie as outerwear. In the Summer heat it's acceptable to get a bit skimpy with your fashion choices, so why not incorporate your lingerie into your outfit. Bralettes can easily be worn as a top in summer. Pair with jeans and a cute jacket, you are good to go. The Wolf & Whistle Ariana Lace Bralette or the Pour Moi Opulence Front Fastening Bralette are popular choices. Or why not invest in a Summer bodysuit that can take you from day to night. We love a body as you can style it up for a meal out or style it down for the boudoir. Try the Playful Promises Margarita Lace Body for a lightweight lacey style. Or try the Scantilly by Curvy Kate Indulgence Body for comfy fuller bust support on your next Summer night out.
Lingerie trends for Summer always include florals . We all go mad for floral patterns and flower embroidery in Summer. Whether it's daisies, roses or tulips, floral lingerie will never fail to put a smile on your face in Summer. What is the most popular floral lingerie? Well, the Elizabeth collection by Coco De Mer is one to browse. This collection features small and subtle floral embroidery on sheer mesh. If you want floral lingerie that makes a bolder statement, the Lise Charmel Ecrin Desir range could be for you. Luxury fabrics and stunning red floral embroidery create the perfect Summer lingerie set. Add a splash of colour to your Summer lingerie drawer with the Scantilly by Curvy Kate Encounter set. This bra and suspender brief are seductive but still super feminine and pretty.

recently, several readers asked if i would discuss all things lingerie especially summer lingerie. and there were several questions posed about bras on two recent blog posts. the first post i wore a black lace bra underneath a white eyelet blouse. the second post i wore a summer top that required a racerback bra . so i thought today would be a good day to revisit summer lingerie. because when those temps heat up, and we bare a little skin, we need the right lingerie to wear with tricky summer silhouettes. if we’re wearing the right undergarments easy breezy sundresses, halter tops, and open knit sweaters can be worn with confidence and ease. it all starts with the right bra. think of it like building a house – the foundation is laid first. this is an important step. even the most spectacular outfit can go awry if we’re not wearing the right undergarments. here are a few of my tips and tricks for summer lingerie.
first, i suggest a twice-yearly bra-fit session. all reputable department stores from Neiman Marcus to Nordstrom to J.C. Penney have trained bra-fit specialists that will equip you with proper measurements – it’s a service they offer at no charge to their customers. why twice a year? because in the space of six months, our bodies may have changed. weight fluctuates, ladies, and as we age our bodies can morph. take heart, this is when wearing the proper lingerie will help! once you know your correct bra size, then it’s a matter of deciding what brand you prefer. in my opinion, bras are like jeans – we’re always on the hunt for the perfect one. so don’t be afraid to carve out an afternoon and try on every brand known to mankind. once you find the perfect match the hard part is over. remember, the band should be snug when hooked on the first row. then over time as the band stretches, you can fasten it on the next hook for a tighter fit. Simone Perele and Wacoal are my top picks for bras with Chantelle pulling up the rear. recently, Third Love , has become a favorite of mine. their bras are incredibly comfortable with tagless bands and no-slip straps. the Third Love website offers loads of information about fit issues & solutions or lingerie care . yes, we should handwash our bras or at the very least run them through the delicate cycle securely fastened inside a lingerie bag.
every three months, i shop for bras. why? because bras are one of the hardest working items in our closet. we need lift and support every single day – yes, even A cups especially as we age. at all times three styles of bras are always at my beck and call and two colors.
a push-up or plunge bra is perfect underneath special occasion or evening wear. this is the bra that gives a nice lift and adds a bit of cleavage. next on my list is a minimizer. many of you may not need this type, but if you are a C cup or larger this is the bra to reach for if you wear button-up shirts. it keeps you in place and your buttons fastened without tugging! last but not least is the t-shirt bra that gives smooth coverage with its molded cups and fits beautifully underneath beloved tees and sweaters.
for tricky summer styles, i reach for a t-back or racer-back bra and a strapless bra . i know, i know, strapless bras never stay in place. but i put Wacoal’s halo lace strapless bra to the test. guess what? it holds up beautifully in all the right places while giving shape. and this bra comes with convertible straps.
since exercise is a key component in my fitness journey with FASTer Way to Fat Loss , a good sports bra is important. and Wacoal comes to the rescue once again. take a peek at this bra in haute berry that not only holds me in place during high impact exercise but looks utterly cool on its own.
as for bra colors, i keep a nude or skin tone bra in my rotation at all times. it goes underneath a sheer blouse with ease. next, i add a black bra. once these basic colors are tucked inside your lingerie drawer, then it’s up to your aesthetics as to what additional colors find their way into your line-up.
next, let’s talk about panties, i have bikinis on hand, cheekies , and boyshorts . my favorite brands are Hanky Panky and Natori. don’t forget to look for panties that give a ‘no visible panty line’ underneath snug fitting pencil skirts or pants. my favorite nvpl (no visible panty line) brand is Jockey . also, i have several sets of matching bras and panties in my lingerie drawer. i always feel like a million bucks when i wear a matching set.
once you’ve tackled the basics, shapewear is a nice addition in your lingerie drawer. a slim-fit one-piece bodysuit is a dream to wear underneath a curve-hugging dress. or try a slim-fit slip or camisole . personally, i love Wacoal smoothing shorts underneath dresses and skirts. it’s lightweight coverage with a smooth silhouette. but when it comes to shapewear, it’s pretty much up to your personal preference as to what area you like smoothed and controlled. believe me, if you need an area of your body sucked and tucked there is shapewear made just for you.
a nude camisole with slim straps is a must-have to wear under sheer blouses. but don’t forget to add a nude tank camisole . i also have white and black camisoles tucked in my drawer and lace. don’t forget a cami looks great all by itself underneath a cashmere cardigan or v-neck sweater.
all right ladies, are you ready to find your perfect bra? you won’t be sorry. once you have the right foundations in place, you’ll look and feel your best every day!

You lost me at the black bra under the white eyelet! I’m 58, 6’1”, slim, and very fit but I’m also fairly modest, and so I would only wear that blouse with a white or colored (not nude) tank (not cami) underneath. I reserve suggestive fashion my husband in our home…… But that’s what great about today’s fashion – one can do as one pleases!!! More power to you and your self-expression! Lori
Did you ever hear of Shapeeze bras. These are one piece bras, cami style, that hide hide back fat and muffin tops. They are a little difficult to pull ever your head at first. After putting them on and taking them off a few times, it gets much easier. The difference is really noticeable.
Thanks for the great info, Beth! I favor Jockey no-line panties and Wacoal bras, too. I like the quality and fit.
Wonderful article! What are “boy-shorts” panties good for wearing underneath? Anything special? Or just a choice?
I, too, love my matching bras and panties. Makes me feel so “together” in my very chaotic reality.

A heat wave has finally hit the UK. Whilst we are happy to feel the sun on our skin, enjoy a cold G&T outside, and relish in actually leaving our umbrellas at home, it also comes with its less enjoyable issues, too. As a large bust, large thigh woman rising temperatures also mean boob sweat, chub rub, and the stress of finding outfits that work with my heavy-duty lingerie.
With that in mind, I’ve put together my “Summer Lingerie Survival” guide. These are my top picks for the items you need to see you through the warm weather.

Stay calm; I’m talking skin toned lingerie. Investing a bra and briefs close to your skin tone is an absolute must in summer. It will virtually vanish under light clothing, including white. Many people think a smooth t-shirt style is the only bra option here. But that won't work for everybody, so be prepared to look at other styles too.
You know the feeling; you’ve seen the forecast, put on your favorite summer dress and the minute you step outside you regret it because your thighs are getting a little too friendly with each other. And this results in painful chafing or “chub rub."
I’ve tried several pieces to help, and I find the most success with anti-chafe shorts. Lightweight and breathable, you can wear over or in place of your usual briefs. They will save your thighs this summer. I also highly rate the Ivyverdure anti-chafe stick . It’s a citrusy balm that you rub over any areas you feel are needed, and it relieves and prevents the pain. (I use it on my under-boob, and it works!)
