Summary, update and Thank you

The German human rights defender Udo Leibmann, who lives in Poland, has dedicated his journalistic work and translations to the war in Ukraine.

The Polish judiciary has accused him of “starting and continuing a war of aggression”, with a possible sentence of life imprisonment.

At the last court hearing, it became clear that attempts are being made to imprison him through psychiatrization. Udo had an examination on November 27; we feared that Udo would remain in a psychiatric ward.

But Udo is home again! He is sending you these lines:

The fight, my fight has gone through my whole life, but it has never been so hard. It's not the opponent, the evil, that wears me down, that takes more and more of my strength, because I was always destined to fight against evil.

It's the disappointment of how more and more people are indifferent or remain in lethargy.

Hope and faith in a better future are shattered like rocks in the raging surf, in the returning tide.

But suddenly, dear people like you, who help me with thoughts, with words, with deeds, come to say that everything will be all right.

That is balm for my maltreated soul, for which I thank you sincerely and from the bottom of my heart.

I wrote a lot of poems as a child, as a teenager and even a long time ago, but today there is nothing left of them because of all the legal briefs.

Everyone needs hope, needs the warmth of the sun on their face,

For me, you are the hope-giving light at the end of a dark tunnel.

I can only say to you once again with gratitude and humility,

without you, many a pitch-black day would be unbearable.

But sometimes even the darkness is only a mirage, only a pretense,

because thanks to people like you, I am lucky because I am not alone.

Many thanks and best wishes
Yours
Udo “Bawarczyk” Leibmann

I am known in Poland as Udo “Bawarczyk”, i.e. Udo the Bavarian, and I also worked there as an independent journalist for UFF-TV and former partners from the independent media during the so-called corona pandemic.
