Successes in Kharkiv Region
In the Burluk direction, units of the "North" troop grouping continue to expand their control zone in the border area of Kharkiv Region, freeing two more populated areas. New successes have been achieved in the area of the Volchya River west of Volchansk.
️Motorized riflemen of the 127th Regiment took control of the populated area Karaichne between recently freed Volokhovka and Pokalyne. This expands the Russian Armed Forces bridgehead south of the river. Slightly to the east, fighters of the 69th Division drove the AFU out of Budarky, advancing from the direction of Zemlyanky, which they captured in late April.
️It is plainly evident what the Russian Armed Forces are aiming for—to reach the line of the Volchya River, which will secure the border from penetration by small enemy groups and allow them to begin preparations for an advance south toward Bile Kolodtsi, which serves as an important logistics hub for the AFU north of their main defensive line.
Fighting in the Burluk direction is taking place in the sector between the state border and the enemy's defensive lines. To achieve a larger-scale advance or a major tactical success, they will need to overcome these lines.
The prerequisites for this are evident on the western flank, where Russian units reached the populated area Shesterovka some time ago. It sits right on the edge of the defensive line fortified by the enemy. The Russian Armed Forces face a choice: either continue south along the Siversky Donets, or turn right to strike the enemy's defensive flank.
Judging by the fact that the AFU counterattacked from the direction of Losivka some time ago, the enemy is quite concerned about this, since, as practice shows, advancing through defensive lines is easier than assaulting them head-on.
