Elizabeth Suzanne Bailey was hit with 27 new charges after police learned she continued to meet with her alleged victim while on house arrest

Mother shares photos of injuries her 5-year-old son received allegedly from teacher’s aide
A North Carolina teacher facing charges for having sex with an underage student allegedly invited the victim over to her home numerous times while she was under house arrest.
Elizabeth Suzanne Bailey, 36, met with the victim at her home nine times after her house arrest began on 1 August, the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement . One of the conditions of her bond release was to stay away from the juvenile victim, a student at Northview Academy, where she also was a science teacher.
Ms Bailey was originally charged with statutory rape of a person 15 years of age or younger, indecent liberties with a minor and sexual activity with a student after ICSO received a report on July 20 that she had engaged in a sexual relationship with a student. She was released on a $75,000 bond and placed on house arrest, Iredell Free News reported.
The sheriff’s office said it received information about the minor’s visits to the home, prompting 27 additional charges against the former educator. She was arrested at her home on Friday and booked into Iredell County Detention Center. Her bond was set at $800,000.
She is now facing 27 additional charges: nine counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, nine counts of intimidating or interfering with a state witness, and nine counts of felony violation of pre-trial release conditions.

The Free News reported in early August that Ms Bailey was suspended by the Iredell-Statesville School District when the district learned about the alleged relationship between Ms Bailey and a student at Northview Academy, a K-12 school.
The district also told the outlet that she was hired in February 2010 as an assistant, and later taught children at the academy before working as a science teacher.
The age of the alleged victim has not been released by authorities.
An investigation by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office is ongoing.

A Statesville teacher accused of having a sexual relationship with a student has been charged with violating the terms of her release and seeing that same student while she was on house arrest.
Elizabeth Suzanne Bailey, 36, was charged last month with several child sex abuse crimes including felony statutory rape of a person who is 15 years of age or younger, indecent liberties with a minor and sexual activity with a student.
She was given a $75,000 bond and placed on house arrest with electronic monitoring, according to the Iredell County Sheriff's Office.
The sheriff's office announced on Wednesday that Bailey had invited the alleged victim over to her home nine times since her arrest on Aug. 1, which was a direct violation of her the terms of her release.
She was arrested again on Friday and was slapped with even more charges, including nine counts of felony intimidating or interfering with a state witness. This time, she was given a $800,000 secured bond.

Dec. 2, 2002 -- Forget lover's lane and the backseat of a borrowed car on a Saturday night, most teens are having sex at home after school. A new study shows 91% of sexually active high school students last had sex in a home setting, such as their own home, their partner's home, or at a friend's house. And prime time for sexual activity is before their parents get home from work.
The survey of urban teens also found that the more time teenagers spent unsupervised after school, the more likely they were to be sexually active, have a sexually transmitted disease ( STD ), or, in the case of boys, use tobacco or alcohol.
The results appear in the December issue of Pediatrics .
Researchers say the findings show boosting participation in after-school activities and increasing adult supervision at home or at community centers are worth considering as tools to help reduce risky behaviors like sex and drug use among youth. Until now, most interventions have focused primarily on promoting abstinence, refusal skills, and negotiation tactics.
The survey involved about 2,0
