This is a good movie most don't understand, but that was made ahead of its time.
Strippers to most people means all those who take their clothes off. Unfortunately for those who only have one thing on their minds, expect to be highly dissapointed. Strippers goes above and beyond the titles expectations. Not only does this movie show a sign of the old and the new, but I think it was done ahead of its time. For one, the role reversals the filmmakers uses in challenging the stereotypes we are conditioned to is handled in a way we all should be living our daily existance, with total equality. The film show this guy getting stripped of all he's got, yet those who strip him are usually the people or situations that haunt us in our day to day lives. It's funny, because it is usually women who get sexually harrased, but in this movie it is the protagonist. The comic tones the movie uses to accentuate the dramatic storytelling is corky, but it work to keep the audiences from going under or leaving the theatre depressed. After watching the movie and reading some of its reviews, I realized people are not quite ready for this movie. It's hard to compare this movie due to its originality, but I would suggest watching "The Secret of my Success" & "The Game". The filmmaker is definently one to watch for he is innovative and original. For the most part, he avoids making the same mistakes most movies do. Repackaging, recreating and reorganizing storylines that have been told over and over again.

When Hustlers hit theaters in 2019, it took some fans by surprise. The movie, which on the outside was about strippers, ended up an empowering heist flick with and an award-worthy Jennifer Lopez performance . It helps that it was a movie about women made by women, but it ended up as a critical success.
There is a lot in this movie, from strong females to a great heist, but the item that most people noticed right off in the trailer was it was a movie about strippers. When it comes to critical acclaim, the male stripper franchise Magic Mike has to top the list. It shouldn't come as a surprise since it was directed by indie filmmaking legend Steven Soderbergh, who himself is one of Jennifer Lopez's earliest supporters as an actress, casting her in his movie Out of Sight .
The first movie hit in 2012, based on a story that Channing Tatum came up with dealing with his early career as a male stripper before he became a successful actor. The movie told the story of young male stripper introduces into the risque and partying lifestyle.
Despite a new director taking over the sequel, Magic Mike XXL improved on the original. Most of the cast returned, including Channing Tatum, Kevin Nash, and Joe Manganiello, although Matthew McConaughey chose not to return.

The Wrestler is a story about an aging wrestler who can't leave the lifestyle behind, living for the adrenaline rush from the crowd. One thing that director Darren Aronofsky does with his movie is to juxtapose the life of the wrestler with that of a stripper, also aging and struggling to keep up with the younger stars coming in.
Mickey Rourke turned in an Oscar-nominated performance as the aging professional wrestler. However, at the same time, Marisa Tomei also impressed critics by picking up an Oscar nom for her role as the aging stripper, as she won over a new generation of fans with her performance.
It seems that a lot of movies tend to show the life of a stripper as being an interesting one. Whether it is fun and games and partying like in Magic Mike or one of dirty and grimy lust like in The Wrestler , the jobs in the strip club are never that bad. That is not real life.
The movie Dancing at the Blue Iguana shines a brighter light on what it is really like to work at a strip club — specifically at the smaller ones off the beaten path. Released in 2000, this film starred Daryl Hannah and is about strippers whose lives are not what they ever dreamed.
Of course, there are also times that all someone wants in their stripper movie is for an entire bar to turn into a haven for vampires. What is most interesting about the film From Dusk Till Dawn is that it is two movies of entirely different genres combined into one .

In Striptease , Moore's stripper is a strong woman who fights for her family and the right to take off her clothes for money.
Moore is a woman with a daughter that she lost custody of to her criminal ex-husband. She then took on the job of a stripper to make money to fight for her daughter — but found discrimination in the courts due to her new occupation.
While some might consider Striptease a guilty pleasure, Showgirls is the true definition of a guilty pleasure. More accurately, when it comes to Showgirls , it is a movie so bad that it almost becomes good. At the time of its release, Showgirls earned a lot of publicity as an NC-17 movie released into theaters — or at least the ones that would show it.
Elizabeth Berkley, who shocked her fans from her Saved By the Bell days, starred as a smalltown girl turned stripper in Las Vegas. With a supporting cast that included Gina Gershon and Kyle MacLachlan, Showgirls received negative critical reviews across the board. It ended up as a massive success on the home video market.
