Here's a good selection of sexually explicit movies you can stream on Netflix right now.
Netflix is known for its incredible variety of content, featuring some of the best scripted shows to binge watch and a number of the best movies you can stream completing a truly diverse line up. Sometimes, though, viewers want a movie that will add a little steam to their streaming activities, and Netflix can also provide that, with there being a number of options available for those who’d like to break away from the wild dating shows on Netflix or repeated viewings of old favorites that they’ve been filling their time with. And, if you’re considering just that, well, we’re here to help you out..
Below, we’ve listed more than 10 movies that can help you branch way out when it comes to investigating some of the steamier options on the streaming service. And, when I say “steamier” I do, indeed, mean filled with the sexytimes your heart desires. All we know is, if you're looking for something a little more intense than most of the offerings in Netflix's library, then these are the films you need to hunt down. Part the beaded curtain, and follow along as we list the most sexually explicit Netflix titles we could find.
Admit it, this is the movie that sent you to this list. No one would blame you, either, as 365 Days hit the streaming giant in the summer of 2020 and quickly became the latest steamy sensation to get Netflix users excited. For the uninitiated, the film is based on the Polish novel of the same name by author Blanka Lipińska, telling the story of mafia don Massimo (Michele Morrone) and his captive love interest Laura (Anna-Maria Sieklucka.) That captivity part is most of the reason why this film led many to sign a petition for its removal , but fans loved its exceedingly realistic looking sex scenes , and a sequel, 365 Days: This Day , debuts on April 27, 2022.
In this movie from director and co-writer Miguel Arteta, two women who just met, Naima (Alia Shawkat, who co-wrote along with Arteta) and Sergio (Laia Costa) decide on an intriguing relationship experiment by agreeing to spend 24 hours together and have sex every hour, on the hour. Of course, this leads to complications once unexpected feelings begin to emerge, and each woman’s romantic baggage from the past comes into play.
The Spanish film Amar , takes a look at young love and what happens when the realities of life come crashing down. Laura (María Pedraza) and Carlos (Pol Monen) are firmly in the throes of their first love with each other, and enjoying the intensity (and experimentation) that comes with it. But, it isn’t long before life gets in the way of their idealized view of what their relationship can be. The first 10 minutes show you exactly where these young lovers are in their romance before everything gets more difficult than they’d imagined.
Even if you haven’t watched Wild Things , you’ve probably heard of it. This crime thriller involves two high school students (Neve Campbell and Denise Richards) who accuse a school guidance counselor (Matt Dillon) of rape, while the detective on the case (Kevin Bacon) suspects the trio are actually trying to run a scam. It seems to be the rare sexually explicit thriller that is derided for being trashy while also being applauded for the number of expertly executed twists held within, leading it to still have quite a reputation.
When a gynecologist (Julianne Moore) suspects her college professor husband (Liam Neeson) of having an affair, she hires an escort (Amanda Seyfried) to attempt to seduce him to try and test his loyalty to their marriage. The idea of someone testing their partner’s fidelity to them isn’t a new one, but this erotic thriller takes the story to new heights.
In this Spanish film, which is based on a true story, two women (Natalia de Molina and Greta Fernández) meet in the late 1800s and form a strong friendship. Eventually, their relationship turns into much more, and one of them begins posing as a man so that they can legally marry. This romantic drama will tug on your heartstrings while delivering some steamy scenes, which help make it one of the best movies on Netflix with lesbian characters .
Director Drake Doremus has quietly become one of the most proficient storytellers when it comes to complex emotional relationships. In his previous films, such as Like Crazy and Equals , he’d mined that subject for some very unique views on how society deals with such things, and Newness is perhaps one of his most sexually provocative examinations. This time around, Martin (Nicholas Hoult) and Gabriella (Laia Costa) are Dormeus’ subjects, as they start an open relationship after they become bored with their romance, which sees each partner asking the other to accomplish specific tasks while the other watches. Love and lust collide, as the two try to get to the root of what their relationship is really all about.
Set on the French Riviera during a lusty summer, 16 year old Naima (Mina Farid) goes along with her free-spirited and sexually adventurous 22-year-old cousin, Sofia (Zahia Dehar), as she enjoys her partying lifestyle. Watching her cousin leads to Naima realizing what she values for her own life.
Rebecca (Barbara Niven) has been in an unhappy marriage for decades, but after she confides in her best friends about never having an orgasm and being unfulfilled by her sex life with her husband, they suggesst she take matters into her own hands by seeking sexual satisfaction with an escort, Paris (Jessica Clark), who comes highly recommended. Tales of mid-life sexual awakening still tend to be relatively rare, and this one does not shy away from being explicit.
Middle-class teen Raquel (Clara Galle) has had a massive crush on her super rich neighbor, Ares (Julio Peña), for years, and her dreams start to come true when he begins to express his own feelings for her, despite the objections of his family. If you need more sexytimes with your teen drama, Through My Window will not disappoint.
Speaking of teen dramas with sexytimes, the After trilogy (which includes 2020’s After We Collided and 2021’s After We Fell ) takes things a bit further, showing us a slice of complicated romantic life for college freshmen. Sexually inexperienced Tessa (Josephine Langford) starts college very sure of what she hopes to get out of life, but that starts changing for her when she meets and falls for bad boy Hardin (Hero Fiennes Tiffin). Not only do you have three hot tales of young love to watch right now with the After trilogy, but the After We Fell ending set up the fourth film in the series based on Anna Todd’s best-selling books ( After Ever Happy ), which is due in theaters in September of 2022.
As you can see, there's no lack of sensual thrills in your Netflix queue, if you know where to find them. The movies we've pointed out above are a very good jumping off point for a night of filmic sexual adventure, and who knows what else you'll find in the digital library on this streaming giant's comprehensive servers. But, be sure to stream responsibly. If need be, make sure the kids are either watching Looney Tunes or are asleep before embarking on any of these explicit viewing escapades.

Do you want to be the first who gets the news directly to your mailbox?
We’re all looking for strange and entertaining things to watch right now, which is why an unexpected, fun, and completely ridiculous 2015 erotic thriller has found a new audience on Netflix. Knock Knock is a remake of 1977’s Death Game and stars Keanu Reeves and Ana de Armas. It’s currently the streamer’s second most popular film . If you’re one of the millions who’ve enjoyed–or enjoyed laughing at–the outrageous flick about a hard working dad seduced by two sexy young women and are looking for more saucy and (and sometimes silly) distraction, then you’ve come to the right place.
The erotic thriller is one of the most delightfully dark and sensual subgenres so I’ve curated a list of 15 of the best, wildest, and sexiest films that you can stream now!
I’m starting off with a Rob Lowe double bill here. First up is this 1988 masterpiece of seedy betrayal starring the brat-packer alongside Meg Tilly and Kim Cattrall. Tilly plays a young and naive heiress who falls for Lowe’s yacht captain who may or may not have designs on her money. This fits into the little appreciated but powerful erotic thriller sub-subgenre: the yachting thriller. Big ships, bigger twists, and some seriously wonderful sweaters, this is an underseen gem.
In this flick, Lowe teams up with another peak ’80s / ’90s heartthrob, James Spader. Wow. I love James Spader so much and he’s very close to his hottest here. Michael (Spader) is a high powered analyst who can’t escape his low self esteem. That is, until he meets Alex (Lowe). Enigmatic and handsome, Alex has some interesting ideas to help Michael find his confidence. Though at first it seems like a match made in heaven, Alex has a (very, very) dark side which threatens to put everything Michael cares about at risk. This is unadulterated ’90s neo-noir fun!
Madonna, Julianne Moore, and Willem Dafo e are all in top form in this noirish erotic oddity. Madge plays a woman accused of killing her OAP husband via vigorous sex and cocaine—scandal! Dafoe stars as her defense attorney who wants to believe she’s innocent… so that he can continue his sordid affair with her. Classic gaudy erotic thriller stuff here with the added magic of Dafoe.
If you grew up in the ’90s then chances are this was a formative sexy movie for you. Ryan Phillippe, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Reese Witherspoon are killin’ it in this hot and heavy prep school reimagining of Dangerous Liaisons . Step-siblings Kathryn (Gellar) and Sebastian (Phillipe) engage in a nasty game of sexual experimentation focused on the famed playboy seducing a virginal Witherspoon. Of course, things all change when he falls in love.
The two Coreys— Haim and Feldman —team up in this lesser seen made-for-TV movie. Don’t let the fact that it was made for TV make you think this isn’t a serious erotic thriller, though. Honestly, I’m still shocked it got shown at all as it gets pretty wild. The Coreys star as off-season ski workers who get caught up with a hot rich girl who wants them to kill her daddy.
Easily the sexiest of the films on our list, The Handmaiden is also a magnificent piece of cinematic artistry. Park Chan-Wook directs this perfect adaptation of Sarah Water’s queer period novel The Fingersmith . Moving the action to Japanese-occupied Korea, a simple setup hides something truly surprising as a con man—and the pickpocket he’s hired to help him—tries to seduce a wealthy heiress in order to steal her money. I just can’t overstate how good this is.
James Spader returns to our list thanks to this excellent ’93 black widow story. Madchen Amick is the dangerous woman who seduces Spader and dedicates herself to driving him mad. Showcasing her brilliance as femme fatale, Amick is a joy to watch. Spader is as hot and disheveled as you want him to be, and Dream Lover is a perfect erotic ’90s watch.
Charlotte Rampling is a national treasure and she shines in this sultry summer thriller. An author (Rampling) heads off to her publisher’s villa to try and make headway on her new book. It should be just the break that she needs but her plans are waylaid by the arrival of a young woman (Ludivine Sagnier) who claims to be the daughter of the very publisher who sent her there. Sexy, strange, surreal, and totally wonderful, this is a truly great addition to the erotic thriller canon.
I’ll be honest—this movie isn’t particularly erotic or thrilling, but it is incredibly entertaining. Jennifer Lopez stars in this Lifetime-esque tale of a bored housewife who gets seduced by a young man who becomes fatally obsessed with her. Her definitely 30-something teenage beau also buys her a “first edition of The Iliad ” in one of Hollywood’s great comedy moments.
The Wachowskis made their feature debut with this lesbian neo-noir cult smash. Gina Gershon and Jennifer Tilly play the troubled lovers who come up with a get rich quick scheme that puts them on a crash course with the mob. This ultra low budget neo-noir is super cool and stylish as well as being queer as all hell. So basically move this one up to the top of your list and get ready to fall in love with Tilly and Gershon all over again.
I only recently discovered this highly enjoyable gritty little flick. Call Me takes the classic creepy prank call trope and turns it on its head. When a woman gets an explicit call she thinks is from her boyfriend, she heads to a bar to meet him. With her boo nowhere to be seen she heads to the bathroom and witnesses a horrific crime. This is a truly grimy and great little movie with a killer lead turn from Patricia Charbonneau, plus an early turn from Steve Buscemi!
Stanley Kubrick cast Nicole Kidman and her real life husband (at the time) Tom Cruise in his epic erotic drama. The pair play a married couple with Cruise as an unsatisfied husband who over one night gets embroiled in a strange underground party scene that also might be a cult. It’s actually far weirder than I can put into a short blurb and has to be seen to be believed.
Jane Campion’s gorgeous and violent thriller is a must watch. Meg Ryan leads this dark exploration of desire as Frannie Avery, a teacher who gets entangled with a horrific murder case. Mark Ruffalo is the hot detective that encourages that entanglement. Far more experimental and transgressive than most of the films on this list, In the Cut is a dark delight.
I’m wrapping things up with this utterly absurd and entertaining contemporary offering. Alongside The Boy Next Door , this 2015 erotic thriller stands as one of our silliest entries. Nick Jonas plays a moody young man spending the summer with his parents. While working on his neighbor’s boat—Yachting Thriller!!—he falls for his hot young wife. Crimes and drama ensue in this twisty and often hilarious movie that wouldn’t feel out of place on Lifetime … and that’s a compliment.
