I like this Refinery article on pegging for an odd reason: It downplays the domination aspect.
That does go against the grain for a Femdom blog. However, I think it’s helpful to disconnect the simple act of penetration from that of domination. Pegging can be awesome as part of a D/s scene. But it can also just be awesome as sexy fun times between two people. I don’t think emphasizing the pleasure and deemphasizing the BDSM potential is going to make any difference to existing kinksters. It might make it more appealing to couples who want to broaden their sexual options and try something new. That has got to be a good thing.

The article in question is ‘The Last Days of the Leather Fortress‘. Written by Tina Horn, it’s all about the last few days of the kink.com studios in San Francisco. I did cover the story at the time, but missed this particular article when it came out. It gives an insiders viewpoint, capturing the nitty gritty details of what it’s like to shoot porn and deal with the complexities that entails.
With hindsight, the closure of the studios had a much bigger impact on kinky content publishing than I expected. They were a great source of interesting, intense and high quality femdom imagery. I’ve featured lots of photographs from their Men In Pain and Divine Bitches sites over the years. At the time I hoped the closure of the armory was more about the crazy SF real estate market, and that they’d soon be producing equivalent content elsewhere. Sadly that doesn’t seem to be the case. Now they seem more like an aggregator site for kinky content than a true producer. I’m sure there’s still good material there, but it’s nothing like the quantity of femdom photoshoots they used to create.
