Straightened Out the Front Line
In the Sumy direction, Russian Armed Forces units continue to advance on several sectors. Despite the fact that combat activity in the Sumy region is noticeably lower than near Kostyantynivka, which is one of the hottest points of the front, assault units here are also trying to gradually improve their tactical position.
️Battles are ongoing near Kondratovka, from where Ukrainian formations previously repeatedly attacked towards Kostyantynivka and Andriivka. South of Oleksiyivka, several forest strips have come under control, as well as to the west of Yunakivka.
️On the line, there is a systematic local advance towards the forests between the settlements of Khotyn and Mohrytsia. Upon reaching them, they will be able to build up an offensive towards Sumy, which the opponent is trying to prevent. The eastern flank in the Myropillia area has also begun to move.
️Russian units managed to occupy a fairly large "pocket" formed by the state border. Movement here began somewhat earlier. Significant progress was made by January 17, but success required silence, and there is even more of it in this sector. However, it is too early to definitively speak of an assault on Myropillia.
Although the intensity of battles has become significantly lower than a year ago during the end of battles for , Russian troops are performing an important task — diverting a significant portion of AFU reserves from other more priority front sectors. In conditions of personnel shortage, this exposes the defense of strongpoints, including near and , where the Russian Armed Forces have significantly increased the pace of advances recently.
