It's not a scam if you pay for something based on nothing. It's called a poor investment.
I don't get it. Was the game being announced on his patreon/pixiv? Was the patreon/pixiv about this game? Or was it about his draws, animations, etc like any artist? Why would anyone support him for a game that wasn't even released in patreon/pixiv? I could understand that in sites Kickstarter or GoFundMe but not in patreon/pixiv.
He said the patreon was made so he can work more time on his project, so, it's not based on nothing, he just scammed people.
Nuts because there is content on the patreon prior to the games announcement. And never has there been definitive "here is my focus" for the game. I get "asking for money is a scam" but when are we going to hold people responsible for their own wallets?
