It’s been a long time since I last drew this character; I almost forgot what she looks like. I kinda changed how I draw her hair, though, so it doesn’t matter much.

“I’d say I hate life but, honestly, I think she hates me. And justifiably so – I haven’t been very nice to her.”
This was sort of intended as a self portrait; doesn’t quite look like me. Not on the outside, at least.
This is a quick(ish) sketch of what’s possibly* going to be the cover of my old NaNoWriMo novel written in 2012. If it looks slightly familiar, that’s because it has elements in common with the Vortex Club poster from the game Life is Strange—I only really realized this halfway through the drawing process, though, so let’s call it unintentional inspiration or something. It’s a fun coincidence how my novel shares a recurring theme with that game, but the similarities end there—I wrote my novel years before the game came out, mind you.
One of the old cover sketches featured a spiral, and another one featured silhouettes of the main characters, so I guess making one that featured both was kind of unavoidable, now that I think of it.
Both the silhouettes and the spiral were drawn in ink, then the layout and effects were done with GIMP.
*I say possibly because I plan to publish it traditionally, in which case I’ll likely have no say in how the cover should look like, but if I end up self-publishing it, the cover will look very much like this sketch, only a bit more refined and with the addition of typography.
