Karwa chauth story:- is about a queen named Veervati. Veervati was the only sister among seven brothers and was loved very much. After she was married at a young age, she came to her parents’ home for her first Karwa Chauth. She followed a strict fast from sunrise, but as the day passed, she desperately waited for the moon so that she could break the fast. Looking at her thirsty and hunger-stricken state, her brothers decided to ease off the situation for their beloved sister. They created a mirror on a pipal tree which looked like the moon. They told Veervati that moon had risen and she believed her brothers and broke the fast. But the moment she took a morsel in her mouth, the family was notified by a servant that her husband was dead. She was heartbroken and wept all night long. Since she was not actually guilty, goddess appeared in front of her. When Veervati told the goddess about her story, goddess asked her to observe a strict Karwa Chauth fast again for her husband. Veervati observed the fast again.

Seeing this dedication,

Yamraj the god of death, was forced to bring her husband back to life.
