Sticker editor, birthdays, profile page and more

Telegram

Starting today, you can quickly create stickers and sticker sets from any photos using a new powerful editor, let your contacts know your birthday, view how your profile looks for others, display your channel on your profile, and more.

Sticker Maker

Telegram was the first app to build an open platform for stickers. With this update, you can create stickers or whole sticker sets in our new sticker editor.

Just take any photo and tap to cut out objects and remove the background. Then add text and drawings, emoji, or even other stickers – including millions of stickers that already exist on our platform.

You can also manually erase and restore parts of your photo – or add an outline for your new sticker.

When you're done, simply send the sticker – or create a sticker set so that friends can reuse your cut-out cats in their chats.

mini: Add to Sticker Set

This lets you quickly turn photos of friends, coworkers or pets into sets of stickers with 🔥 flaming eyes, funny captions and anything else you can imagine.

Birthdays

Anyone can choose to add their birthday to their profile – letting all their contacts know when to bring gifts. On your birthday, anyone who visits your profile will be greeted with animated confetti and plenty of balloons.

When it's someone else's birthday, a banner appears in your chat list – so you won't forget to congratulate them. Don't worry if you forgot their gift, you can tap the banner to quickly send a subscription to Telegram Premium.

By default, your date of birth is only visible to your contacts. Like other information on your profile, birthdays have granular privacy settings which you can control via Settings > Privacy and Security > Date of Birth.

My Profile

Your Settings now have a 'My Profile' section that allows you to view your profile as it appears to other users — and quickly edit or change any information.

You can easily check the privacy settings of your saved stories at a glance – and pin up to 3 stories to the top of the page.

To view and manage your archived stories, simply tap the 'Archived Posts' tab.

Channels on Your Profile

Users can add a channel they own to their profile page. This places a detailed preview of the latest channel message above your bio – sending visitors to your personal project, online portfolio or company blog in one tap.

mini: Personal Channels

The search interface has a new 'Channels' tab that shows the channels you follow. The tab also has a list of recommended channels – where you can find more channels with similar topics and discover new creators.

media: Recommended Channels

When browsing channels, you can pull up to jump to the next unread channel in your list. After hopping through all your channels, you can keep scrolling to browse recommended channels.

Channel recommendations are based only on the general topic of channels you already subscribe to.

Reaction Notification Settings

Reactions now have a dedicated section in your notification settings. You can control if you want to be notified about reactions to your messages or your stories – either from everyone or just your contacts.

This means you can now receive notifications for reactions to your stories – with the ability to limit which users notify you.

Reaction Management for Channels

Channels admins now have an extra way to manage reactions in their feed – selecting a maximum number of reactions per post.

media: Maximum Reactions

This allows channels to frequently change their available reactions (like adding something relevant for a holiday), without a bunch of Easter bunnies popping up on past posts.

Rewards for Creators

A new reward system for content creators now rewards owners of eligible channels with 50% of the revenue from ads shown in their channel.

Users can now promote their channel or bot by creating sponsored messages on the Telegram Ad Platform – powered by the TON blockchain.

900 Million Users

Telegram continues to be one of the most-downloaded apps in the world – and now has more than 900 million monthly active users. To read more about this major milestone and what the future holds for Telegram, see this post by our CEO and founder.
