Before he was impregnating former strippers and flashing that creepy psycho stalker smile on Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta , the man known as Stevie J (or “Steebie J” if his sometimes artist, usual jumpoff Joseline Hernandez says it) actually had a preexisting career in hip-hop. We went into the history books to highlight some of the Grammy Award-winning producer’s most memorable moments—from being an integral part of Diddy’s The Hitmen production team to that pesky sex tape with Eve —before he became reality TV’s scum-of-the-moment. — Sowmya Krishnamurthy (@SowmyaK)
Stevie J talks a big game when referring to his musical history and accolades on Love & Hip Hop Atlanta and much of that bragging comes from actual production work he did with Diddy and The Hitmen for The Notorious B.I.G. Stevie’s production credits for the late great emcee include cuts like “Mo Money Mo Problems,” “Notorious Thugs,” and “Last Day,” from Biggie’s classic Life After Death album.
Remember when Mariah shook off that goody two-shoes image following her divorce from Tommy Mottola and turned into a red hot vixen? Stevie had a lot to do with the sexy, new direction Mariah’s music took on her Butterfly album including “Breakdown” featuring Bone Thugs and the sultry hit, “Honey.” If you watch the music video for “Honey (Bad Boy Remix)”, you’ll actually see Stevie bopping around in a shiny suit alongside MC.
Without The Hitmen, there would have never been a rapper named Puff Daddy. Stevie’s prints are all over Puff’s seven times platinum No Way Out album, including the heartfelt “I’ll Be Missing You.” See? Stevie does have some sensitivity in him (just not when it comes to his girl).
Hip-hop royalty even had their time with Stevie. Queen Bee worked with Stevie on her airy “Summertime” featuring Diddy, a fan-favorite that shows that Stevie can make hits for female singers, just not for his OWN artists! Beyoncé’s other half also worked with Stevie on “Ride or Die” in 1998 and “Lucky Me” in 1997.
Is nothing sacred? Stevie and the Jacksons? Yup. That happened. The TV slimeball is credited with the “I Want You Back” remix from the Motown 40 Forever album. At least he didn’t do a Joseline Reggaeton remix.
Because of his work with The Hitmen, it’s no surprise that Stevie’s affiliated with R&B group 112. What IS surprising is that he worked on one of their more tender and romantic songs, “I Surrender” from Part III. Guess, art doesn’t always imitate life.
Stevie’s paw prints are all over several tracks by rapper Eve, most notably 2001’s “Let Me Blow Ya Mind.” The two even dated beginning in the late 90s. What came as a huge shocker was when a sex tape of the lovers leaked following their affair. We’ll spare you the gory NSFW details but inquiring minds can probably find a stream with a quick Google search. Don’t say we didn’t warn you…

Stevie J has broken his silence on reports that he was fired from Love & Hip Hop Atlanta .
While he didn’t speak specifically on whether or not he was fired from the show, Stevie J did admit that he will be off Love & Hip Hop Atlanta for a full season. The VH1 reality TV show is getting ready to premiere season 8 later this month, and there are a lot of chatters about who will be leaving and who will be staying. Urban Islandz confirmed that Spice would be a major fixture on the upcoming season of LHHATL .
In a message to his followers on Twitter , Stevie J said, “Not returning for a full season. No need.”
At the end of his statement, he said “no need” which could be interpreted as a shot towards the Love and Hip Hop franchise. Stevie J has been a major cast on the Atlanta franchise for the past four seasons where we saw his ups and downs with his baby mamas Mimi Faust and Joseline Hernandez.
Since last week, rumors started making the rounds that Stevie was fired from the show because of his bossy personality where he would act like a big shot and boss around the producers during filming. He didn’t address those reports directly, and shortly after he sent out this tweet, we saw him posted a video of himself and his wife Faith Evans with film crews rolling.
Perhaps Stevie is sending a message that he and Faith Evans have their own reality TV show coming or maybe they’re working on another project that he is teasing. It sure doesn’t do anything to dispel rumors that he was fired from Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta. “Knowledge is power. #DaJordansStory,” he wrote. “Everyone has a story to tell, our turn. #DaJordans.” Watch the video below.
