In a provocative new photo shoot for Harper’s Bazaar, supermodel Stephanie Seymour dons lingerie and strikes come-and-get-it poses while draping herself around two much-younger men. Oh, and those guys just happen to be her sons, Peter Brant II, 20, and Harry Brant, 17. One photo (seen left) in the 11-page spread depicts Seymour wearing a black, backless, cleavage-baring minidress. She faces one son, whose arm is wrapped around her waist, while the other son’s hand rests near her rear end. Seymour’s own hand covers her crotch. In another photo, she rocks a corset, briefs, and lace-up boots, while her sons pull at her boot strings. And in a third, Seymour sports a sheer dress, while her sons kneel on either side of her body — one hugs her thigh, the other rests his head close to her hip. The rest of the photos are two degrees tamer: The family playfully poses while applying makeup, wearing funky headdresses, and brushing their hair.
Here’s the thing: It’s fashion — meant to titillate, provoke, and eroticize — not to be taken seriously. It’s almost creepy of others to point out the ick factor, right? Yet, given that most people would probably not want to see their own mom in her underwear, the in-your-face, S&M-tinged photos feel ... off.

To be fair, the Brant boys haven’t exactly grown up in a conventional household, with a world-famous supermodel mom (who was once engaged to rocker Axl Rose) and a billionaire art collector dad, Peter Brant, all living on a 300-acre Connecticut estate complete with 50 ponies and a polo field. The family’s attitude toward sexuality is clearly fluid — a life-size nude bust of Seymour hangs prominently in the Brant family home. And they’re clearly an affectionate bunch: Three years ago, photos surfaced of Peter Jr. and his bikini-clad mother hugging and kissing on the beach. The images sparked outrage, with people calling their relationship “weird," prompting Peter to defend their bond on his Facebook page. He wrote, “My mother and I are very close as she is with all her children ... We have nothing to hide and with that in mind I would like to say that I am openly gay ... and yes, our relationship may be different because of my sexuality.”
But glamour shots are nothing special for the Seymour-Brant family. In the exclusive Harper's Bazaar interview, Seymour says her sons used to dress her in couture for parent-teacher conferences and she would pick them up from school after photo shoots — still in full hair and makeup, natch. Former supermodel Stephanie Seymour and son Peter Brant II were photographed in an intimate embrace while vacationing last week. Gossip website Gawker posted the questionable snaps and some now question whether or not Seymour and son are in some inappropriate relationship.
They’re not, said Peter. He added that he’s openly gay , hoping to squash any rumors about his mom.
I would just like to say that these pictures have been taken completely out of context, my mother and I are very close as she is with all her children,” he said in a statement. “She often hugs and kisses me and my siblings in a manner that is intimate, any mother in the world does the same.”
Seriously? It’s really sad that some media will create such inappropriate gossip to get readers. They seem to forget that celebrities – and their children — are people with emotions and reputations they need to protect.
Yes, celebrities ask for the fame, but their children don’t. There’s no reason why Seymour’s son needed to defend himself to anyone other than his friends and family. He’s not a celebrity or a public figure, at all.
The photos plainly show that the two are simply close. Much is being made out of nothing, much like the photos of Angelina Jolie and brother James Haven kissing at the Academy Awards ceremony in 2000. Sure, it might seem odd, but is it our place to judge?
On the other hand, the topic was one of the most-searched topics on Google today – showing that people are obviously interested in reading about this. So, it’s likely intrusive behavior like this won’t be ending anytime soon.

Now about this whole Beach kiss scandal I would just like to say it has been taken completely out of context and I dont appreciate speculation on my personal relationship with my mother and any other uninhibited opinions.
I would just like to say that these pictures have been taken completely out of context, my mother and i are very close as she is with all her children. she often hugs and kisses me and my siblings in an manner that is intimate, any mother in the world does the same. that day on the beach we walked around with each other completely aware of the presence of photographers there. We have nothing to hide and with that in mind I would like to say that I am openly gay. At my age my mother and I are almost like friends and I feel open to talk to her about anything (and yes our relationship may be different because of my sexuality).
