In a move that has electrified the Steel City, the Pittsburgh Steelers have locked in their franchise quarterback for the foreseeable future. The team announced today that they have signed Kenny Pickett to a four-year, $160 million contract extension, ensuring he remains the leader of the black and gold through the 2029 season.

The deal, which includes $95 million guaranteed, solidifies Pickett as the centerpiece of the Steelers' offense after a breakout 2024 season where he threw for 4,200 yards, 30 touchdowns, and just 8 interceptions, leading Pittsburgh to an AFC North title.

'This is where I want to be,' Pickett said at a press conference at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex. 'Pittsburgh is home, and I’m ready to bring another Lombardi Trophy back to this city.'

Steelers General Manager Omar Khan praised Pickett’s growth and leadership, stating, 'Kenny has proven he’s the guy. His work ethic, toughness, and dedication embody what it means to be a Pittsburgh Steeler.'

Meanwhile, Head Coach Mike Tomlin hinted at even bigger aspirations for 2025: 'This is just the beginning. We’re building something special here, and Kenny is a huge part of that.'

The Steelers also made waves in free agency, adding Pro Bowl cornerback Jaylon Johnson to bolster their defense. With a revamped roster and Pickett secured long-term, Pittsburgh is shaping up to be a Super Bowl contender in the upcoming season.
