Statement from the Popular Mobilization Forces Authority

The Popular Mobilization Forces Authority expresses its complete rejection and strong condemnation of the criminal air attacks that targeted its official headquarters in several Iraqi provinces. These attacks were carried out by U.S. aircraft in a blatant assault and a dangerous violation of Iraq’s sovereignty and a clear تجاوز against its official security institutions.

These attacks targeted PMF headquarters in the provinces of Diyala, Kirkuk, Anbar, Nineveh, Salah al-Din, Wasit, and Babil. These are official facilities operating within Iraq’s security system and in full coordination with the Joint Operations Command.

The total number of strikes reached 32 airstrikes. Since the beginning of this month, these attacks have resulted in the martyrdom of 27 fighters and the injury of 50 others from the PMF who were carrying out their national duty to defend Iraq, its security, and stability. Among them were 9 martyrs and 10 wounded in the air attacks that occurred today. We confirm that these headquarters had no role in targeting U.S. bases inside or outside Iraq, and that those who were martyred were innocent fighters performing their official duties. Some of them were stationed on the border to protect Iraq’s sovereignty and security.

The Popular Mobilization Forces Authority, as a fundamental part of Iraq’s state security system, affirms its full commitment to the directives of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and operates in direct and continuous coordination with the Joint Operations Command in carrying out all its security and military duties.

In light of these serious attacks, the Popular Mobilization Forces Authority calls on all political forces to take a firm national stance and clear measures to stop these repeated attacks targeting our heroic security forces, which represent a direct violation of the country’s sovereignty and the dignity of its security forces.

The Authority also affirms that the blood of the martyrs will not be wasted, and that these attacks will not deter the sons of the Popular Mobilization Forces from continuing to perform their national and constitutional duty to protect Iraq and its people. The PMF will remain, as the Iraqi people know it, a strong fortress and a solid barrier against terrorism and anyone who seeks to undermine Iraq’s security, stability, and sovereignty.

Glory and eternity to our righteous martyrs

A speedy recovery to our wounded

Honor and sovereignty to Iraq and its people
