Stassi Schroeder spoke out about racism, her past pregnancy, and her firing from Vanderpump Rules on a recent episode of her podcast.
Following the launch of her paid podcast with husband Beau Clark, Stassi admitted to being fearful about racism conversations before revealing when she found out she was pregnant and explaining how her Pump Rules axing ruined her plans for an over-the-top gender reveal.
“I’ve been really apprehensive to share what I’ve learned over the past year because I know a lot of people, they pick everything apart or they make fun or they call things performative but Beau and I talked about it and we feel like, it’s better to talk about it and talk about these things than to not talk about them,” Stassi explained on the debut episode of her podcast, The Good the Bad the Baby.
According to Stassi, she discovered the Conscious Kid, an organization that provides books to schools, parents, and others in need, on Instagram after asking herself, “How do [I] teach [my daughter] about systemic racism [and] bias?”
“Through following the Conscious Kid, I realized that you have to be teaching these things to kids at a young age. In the work that I’ve been doing over the last six months… they became one of my favorite accounts to follow,” she shared.
Although Stassi’s pregnancy wasn’t officially announced until mid-June, shortly after she, Kristen Doute, Max Boyens, and Brett Caprioni, were fired from Pump Rules due to past racism, she had known she was pregnant since May 2, just two days after she and her former castmates filmed the season eight reunion.
“I woke up that morning, and Beau was outside journaling or reading or something productive, and I walk outside, and I’m like, ‘I’m two days late. My period should have gotten here two days ago, and I really want to take a pregnancy test,’” Stassi recalled.
While Stassi admitted to being under the influence of alcohol at the taping, which was virtual, she said she was told her baby would be okay since she was so newly pregnant.
“I was toasty on the reunion, and I feel bad about that but come to find out, lots of women drink not knowing that they’re pregnant,” she explained.
Following her positive pregnancy tests (she took plenty), Stassi said she decided to stage a gender reveal, even though she was previously against the idea.
“[Katie Maloney] and I used to DM each other pictures of over-the-top gender reveals and make fun of them because I always was just like, ‘No one actually cares about the baby’s gender, unless you’re the parents or immediate family,’” Stassi said. “And when I got pregnant, that [thought] did change.”
“We were going to get a plane. We literally were,” she continued. “We were going to have a plane fly around Valley Village, saying either, ‘It’s a Girl,’ or, ‘It’s a Boy,’ so our friends could walk out of their houses and we could safely social distance and celebrate.”
As for what got in the way of her plans, Stassi admitted she went into a funk after being fired.
“We just weren’t in the mood to celebrate in such a big way,” she confessed.
Fortunately, after telling Beau she was fine having the doctor tell them their child’s gender, he talked her into hosting a small reveal party at their $1.7 million home, and she’s so “thankful” she gave in.
“My sister baked this really beautiful cake that said, ‘The Clark Passenger,’ and that was actually one of the best days of my life. I remember it feeling like it was Christmas morning, and when we cut into the cake and saw pink, [Beau] always wanted a girl. I didn’t realize how much I wanted a girl until that moment. When I saw that it was pink, I was like, ‘Oh my God. This was meant to be,’” she recalled.
Also, during the episode, Stassi and Beau seemingly threw shade at Jax Taylor, who welcomed his first child, a son, with wife Brittany Cartwright, in April, by suggesting he should be reading all of the parenting books, even the cheesy ones.
After Beau revealed he had come across a book about how men can stop hating pink once they welcome their baby girls, Stassi took the initiative to take aim at her ex-boyfriend.
“Those books were made for people like Jax. He’s that type of guy,” she said.
“I wanted to say that, but I didn’t want to say that… Jax would get these books,” Beau agreed.

While the Vanderpump Rules cast is stacked with both loveable and crazy members, Stassi stands firmly planted in both camps.
By Elimy Xepperoni Published May 02, 2020
Alright Vanderpump fans, we're here to break things down about the show's ultimate Queen Bee. No no, we're not going to dish on Lisa Vanderpump herself, but instead the ever-present nuisance in her life, Nastassia Bianca Schroeder, or as you know her, Stassi. While the Vanderpump Rules cast is stacked with both loveable and crazy members, Stassi stands firmly planted in both camps. She's definitely got her quirks, but it's usually not hard to defend her during all of the drama like it is with others *cough* Kristen Doute *cough*.
Even though with every new season comes a new fan favorite character (R.I.P Daug the Lizard), Stassi has remained a consistent fun watch for most of us. That being said, she's still a reality star and therefore, there are plenty of things that have never made much sense about her or her storylines on the show.
Listen, we've all got favorite foods, but Stassi finds a way to drop the word 'ranch' into almost every sentence. What truly doesn't make sense about this though, is that the obsession seemed to just pop up one season. We never once heard her compare her love for her boyfriend to ranch dressing in any of the earlier seasons, but now it's all she can talk about.
Even if you've only ever watched 1 season, you've no doubt heard Stassi screech "It's my birthday" at least a couple of times. The girl really really likes her birthday. She doesn't just expect people to celebrate with her, she forces their worlds to stop for at least a weekend and freaks if the attention ever leaves her.
We get that people change, grow, mature, whatever. But Stassi completely flipped her whole personality. In the beginning, she was a total shark (in a good way). She was vicious in dramatic situations, but oh so smart in her delivery. Seriously, nobody stood a chance going up against her. However, when returning to the show after her brief exit, she'd lost her venom, but gained an unlimited supply of tears and an unhealthy ranch obsession.
Let's head back to the first really big moment that happened in the series: Kristen and Jax's affair. This was massive. Stassi discovered her boyfriend had slept with her best friend. Keep in mind, this was after discovering he had also cheated with others as well. While Stassi was rightfully furious and devastated, she pointed very little of that in Jax's direction.
We totally agree that Kristen's betrayal was way worse than Jax's. Jax is a bad dude and he didn't deserve forgiveness, but the girl code rules are very clear on this: You don't sleep with your best friend's boyfriend. While Stassi was definitely more upset with Kristen, she too was eventually forgiven and even promoted back to best friend status at one point.
Thankfully, Stassi is no longer in contact with ex-boyfriend Patrick. However, this doesn't change the fact that she once left everything behind, the show included, to be with this guy. We only saw Patrick briefly around season 6, but it was more than enough to realise this guy was the worst. Insulting to not only her, but her friends and even Lisa Vanderpump! How could she fall for this after Jax?
We all love Beau Clarke. Stassi has finally found an awesome guy who seems to really do good by her. While we hope everything with their upcoming Italian wedding goes to plan, we do take issue with the pressure she put on him for that ring. As soon as the Jax/Brittany wedding or even the Katie/Tom nuptials were discussed, it sent Stassi into a frenzy. Girl, you've finally found a keeper, take your time and enjoy!
While most of the cast is either still working at SUR or at least pretending to, it's been years since Stassi played server. Of course, she did recently release her book, Next Level Basic, but what about in all of the years before? She kind of wrote for Pandora's website briefly, she was a party planner for an episode, and then was a stylist in another...
Yet another business venture, recently these three created a wine under the label Witches of WeHo. Starting a business with a friend is always risky, but starting a business with a couple of people who you hate more often than you like is just a terrible idea. As we've already seen, things are not running smoothly for the witches.
Once upon a time, Stassi was Lisa's favorite. They were closer than Lisa was to most of the other staffers and she opened a ton of doors for Stassi as a result. However, when Stassi decided it was time to leave SUR behind, she also thought i'd be a good idea to torch her relationship with the owners. What is it they say about biting the hand that feeds you?
Don't get us wrong, we see the appeal. Brittany is easily one of the most likable people on the show these days. However, she's also Jax's wife. While Jax and Stassi were long over by the time she was being introduced to Brittany, that whole scene was super strange. They had barely said two words to each other and Stassi was already calling her bestie.
In Stassi's defense, Scheana has now proven to be one of the very worst personalities on the show. But, back in seasons 1, Stassi hated her before she had even done anything to deserve it. This was especially strange because Scheana was in a committed relationship and not really a threat to Stassi, but at the same time, Stassi's number one lady was sleeping with her dude! Terrible instincts!
When we first realised Stassi would be leaving the show to be with Patrick, we were bummed. However, after seeing her wrap things up, we definitely felt a bit better about the plan. She made sure to let everyone know she was better than all of them and that they were losers for sticking around. Maybe this would have burned more if she hadn't come crawling back a season later?
While we totally agree with everyone cutting Kristen out of the group, we never really understood why Stassi started problems with Katie. While Katie's got her own issues, none of them ever involved Stassi. In fact, Katie has defended Stassi and been a better friend to her than she's usually deserved. We'll chalk this one up to self-destructive tendencies.
Since the very first episode, Stassi's fondness for all things gruesome has been very apparent. When she's upset, she unleashes terrifying scenarios from her imagination. When it's time to party, she picks death as a theme. Heck, when Beau decided to propose, he figured a graveyard would the perfect spot. We'd really like to understand this a bit more. What happened to her as a child??
