Starting AION 2 Global: Progression, Servers and Spending

Aion2global

AION 2 Global is the worldwide release of the MMORPG set in Atreia, and the first weeks around launch are where most avoidable mistakes happen: joining a server your friends cannot reach, over-investing in temporary gear, or treating playtest rules as launch rules. This overview separates what published beginner guides agree on from what players reported during the Global playtest, so you can plan rather than react.

Leveling: follow the story, but read the side rewards

Yellow main story quests are the primary leveling route and the way new regions and systems are introduced. Regional activities, Sealed Dungeons and Strongholds run alongside that spine and provide equipment, materials and progression. Playtest reports add an important wrinkle: green side quests and Sealed Dungeons reportedly award skill points, so check a reward panel before skipping something because its experience looks modest. Gathering while you travel keeps crafting materials flowing without a dedicated farming session.

Level-cap claims deserve care. Guides written in September describe an expected Global cap of 45 against a cap of 50 in the Korean and Taiwanese versions, and later material may change either number. Treat any cap figure as a snapshot with a date attached.

Gear and spending

Spending heavily on equipment you will replace in a few levels leaves fewer resources for upgrades that persist. The playtest described changes to crafting, Potential, Genus and PvP, and those observations are provisional until the retail client confirms them. A measured approach is to upgrade what you will keep for a stretch of content and let drops cover the rest.

Early access, packs and servers

Community reports describe paid advance access beginning September 30 and a free-to-play opening five days later, with preload available without buying a package and a download of roughly eighty-one gigabytes. The three founder packs reportedly shared the same five-day head start and thirty-day membership, which means paying more buys cosmetics and extras rather than extra time. Whatever you buy, confirm the retail client is installed before troubleshooting access, and pick a server with the people you intend to play with, because a head start on the wrong world is not a head start.

Rifts and codes

Rift timers and coupon codes change frequently; verify both against current sources before planning an evening around them.
