But your new ship is no ordinary junker vessel, it is one of the last remnants of the I.E.R. a century old government that dissapeared from existence taking its advanced technology with them. This ship appears to be one of the last prototypes from the era of the I.E.R. and is equipped with an almost mythological drive system that allows for almost instantaneous travel between systems via Quantum space. Storyline
Starlight Drifter is a large scale epic space opera, visual novel and dating sim game all rolled into one neat package. You will take over as the new captain of an old derelict starship. You will get to design your character, choose your background and then hire a crew to explore the universe.
The game will feature a 'directed' sandbox universe to explore with random events and situations cropping up along the way. There will be a main storyline as well as a huge variety of random sectors of space to explore. Multiple aliens to encounter, befriend or make war with and an array of spatial phenomena to find and study.

Gameplay
The game is split into several parts, the main focus of the game is space exploration, a lot of the universe is unexplored and it will be up to you to make a name for yourself out in unexplored space. While doing this there will also be a storyline that gradually builds as you progress, initially it will seem like just regular events, but it will gradually grow more detailed as you progress until you are fighting many unseen forces in your bid to survive in the universe.
The second part of the game is the dating sim aspects. In addition to random NPCs who you can 'kirk' it up with, you will also be able to potentially date any of the crew members on board the ship. The game features a leveling system so that in between missions you can speak to your crew and get to know them better, complete special missions for them and help them out with their own personal story-lines.
As you get to know them better and help them you will improve their abilities on the ship, finally when you have unlocked 'level 5 - mutual respect and friendship' you will then have the option to begin 'courting' the character by dating them. The dating aspects will evolve the characters story but otherwise will not affect the game so you can progress those aspects at your preference.
Crew Characters
The game will feature at least ten crew members for you to hire, rescue or abduct on your trek through the stars...
These crew will include human male and females as well as other humanoid aliens and even non-humanoid creatures and even the odd robot. More details on character to come soon.
Demo
An early proof of concept pre alpha demo is being developed and should be released within the coming fortnight which will include roughly 10 minutes of gameplay for a mid point in the game. To include a basic look at events, mission selection, character creation and crew interactions.

Do you have a link to a demo or a previous complete game?
I don't see one, and those are required to link to a kickstarter on LSF.

Hi, was not aware of that proviso with kickstarter links, that is fair enough I have removed them and will wait until the demo is live to add them back with a future update. Hopefully it will be fairly soon.
