Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order surprised people with its fresh gameplay, but it lacked customizability. These mods help with that!
We don't usually get many video games exclusively featuring the most popular celibate sci-fi space monk faction in Hollywood called the Jedi. That's why Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is a welcome game and it turned out to be one of the best Star Wars video games ever thanks to how it generously borrowed from the Souls-like genre.
One odd problem the game does have is its rather lackluster customization options and certain gameplay mechanics that are questionable. It's not a perfect game, but that can be remedied if you're on the PC thanks to the bustling modding community of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. To get you started, here are the 10 best mods you can install for better enjoyment. This is where the fun begins!
Updated April 21, 2021 by Sid Natividad: It has been more than a year since EA released Jedi: Fallen Order, a single-player game set in the Star Wars universe. Usually, reports of a sequel would be coming out by now, but that has not been the case. That's why for more of Jedi: Fallen Order, prolonging the game's shelf life with mods is a fun idea. So let's add even more good mods for the game.
As one of the few things this year that saved the Star Wars fandom, the world owes much to The Mandalorian. You can then show just how thankful you are toward the series by turning Cal Kestis into Din Djarin with The Mandalorian mod.
It's a visual overhaul mod that replaces Jedi: Fallen Order's playable character model with Din Djarin and his shiny Mando armor. The details are all there, minus the Darksaber and the Grogu/Baby Yoda in tow. For better gameplay, this is the way . You know it.
Any game with a playable lightsaber but no dismemberment is just asking for a review score deduction or is trying to wrestle with some age rating score. Jedi: Fallen Order's lightsaber carnage is rather tame for that matter.
That's why unlocking the full potential of this elegant weapon for a more civilized age with the Dismemberment Alpha is a must. After all, dismemberments are the first full demonstrative use for a lightsaber in a franchise that has a dismemberment fetish.
Backtracking is one of the most prevalent methods of gameplay in Jedi: Fallen Order and is made mandatory in order to progress. Such a forced mechanic can get rather tedious, especially if you miss something in the area or go there accidentally.
Fast Travel aims to ease everyone's life because no one has to suffer the pain of manually walking back to an area in a sci-fi universe where warp travel is available. This mod allows for liberal use of the teleportation feature as it lets you teleport anywhere on the map. It's not recommended for a first playthrough.
Once you have the best lightsaber design possible in the game and you want to do a bit of practice before facing one of the Sith Inquisitors or Vader himself, then having some A.I. punching bags can be a godsend.
The A.I. Spawner can help in this regard. It allows players to spawn any A.I. enemy in front of them. The enemy will, of course, be hostile and can be a good training dummy for Cal Kestis. You can even spawn a ton of them if you're feeling like a certain bold Jedi general.
Lightsaber crossguards are probably the latest fad in the Force-user community after Kylo Ren set the trend (and the attitude) in the sequel trilogy. Luckily, the Fully Customizable Crossguards for Cal mod allows Jedi: Fallen Order to catch up.
What makes it even more appealing is that you can tailor the crossguard design as if it were an official feature of the lightsaber hilt customization. Now Cal can walk around passionately shouting "traitor" at any stormtrooper he encounters.
First thing's first, we have to address the most important part of the game-- lightsabers! In that regard, you get plenty of Jedi options, however, even the default can be rather limited. Lightsaber Color Editor removes the creative and alignment limit imposed by the game.
It lets you create and customize the lightsaber colors. Now you can have red or even white lightsabers. Heck, you can even make them look like the Darksaber if you want. With this mod, you'll never run out of lightsaber options . Do note that it can run into compatibility problems with mods that also change lightsabers.
Regardless of how skillfully disappointing Darth Maul can get at times, he's no doubt one of the cooler Sith enemies in the Star Wars mythos. You just can't get enough of his dual-bladed lightsaber acrobatics, so some modders decided to bring him into Jedi: Fallen Order.
Thanks to the Darth Maul - Shadow Hunter mod, you can now play as edgy Sith lord. It only replaced Cal Kestis' character model though, so the voice won't be Maul's. Paired with the right lightsaber mod for the red glow and you can finally play as the Sith.
Jedi apparel looks comfier and more breezy than the typical casual attire in Star Wars, too bad most of them are likely full of blaster holes in Jedi: Fallen Order's timeline. However, you can still bring them back for Cal Kestis with the Jedi Knight Cal mod.
It's a model and texture mod that changes the appearance of an in-game costume to resemble that of a Jedi Knight's. It's not exactly the most subtle costume for the fugitive Cal but if you're tired of his scrapper ponchos, then this is a breath of fresh air.
Well, it was only a matter of time before someone introduces a gender bender for Cal Kestis. Jedi: Fallen Order notably suffers from a lack of freedom to create or customize your character's biological gender. That's what Gal Kestis aims to fix.
The mod is pretty simple; it replaces male Cal Kestis with a female model complete with long hair, more feminine bone structure, and smoother and lighter skin. The anatomy is also correct though you might want to mute the voice as it's still male Cal speaking.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is a pretty big modern game and is graphically demanding as a consequence. Starting it up on the computer takes several minutes or probably longer depending on your hardware. That's why a quality of life mod called Faster Startup and Config Tweaks ought to make your gameplay less of a hassle.
The mod cleverly eliminates the intro or opening videos of the game so there is less to load, making it start up faster. You can also use it to modify the game's graphical settings such as disabling motion blur and setting the maximum texture fidelity.
Jedi: Fallen Order's storyline takes place relatively fresh after the execution of Order 66 and the fall of the Jedi. That means there were bound to be some remnants of Republic Clone Trooper designs left unchanged by the Galactic Empire.
Or if you merely want the Republic Clone Trooper outfits better, then The Clone Wars mod will let you kill them as payback for Order 66. It replaces the Imperial Stormtroopers to resemble Republic Clone Troopers complete with the less skeletal helmet.
The graphics of Jedi: Fallen Order is already impressive and it's even considered as one of the most graphically beautiful games today. With that said, it seems you can make it even more beautiful provided you have the right hardware headroom for it.
Introducing the Skywalker Reshade FX - True HDR . It's a Reshade FX preset that mimics the HDR effect present in some of today's most demanding games. The best part is that it doesn't require HDR-ready hardware and doesn't come with the same performance tax.
Purge Troopers are quite the menace in Jedi: Fallen Order and thankfully, they're also rare and you don't get to fight too many at a time. You might want to make their appearances more memorable in that regard by making them crimson to match their Sith alignment.
The Sith Shock Troops mod changes the costume of the Purge Troopers into a bleeding red armor similar to those seen in the Sequel Trilogy. It's a mild overhaul mod that merely changes the colors but it makes combat with the Purge Troopers more memorable.
Getting Lightsaber color and behavior right has proven to be an ordeal in multiple Star Wars films. Sadly, the games also suffer the same aesthetic inconsistency but at least the players or the modders can do something about it with the Better Sabers mod.
It's a simple tweak that changes the hue and the intensity of the lightsabers to make them more true to the color that they're actually named after. Some of them certainly tend to be on the lighter or paler spectrum for their intended color, if that bothers you, then this mod should do the trick.
Last but not least, we have another outfit for Cal Kestis that ought to make him and the players feel more powerful even if it's just for aesthetics. It's called the Armor of the Jedi General mod.
It replaces one of the outfits with an armor used by the generals of the Clone Wars, like Obi-Wan Kenobi. It gives Cal a tougher and battle-ready appearance though not exactly best for subtlety. Make sure to wear it during the Vader encounter in-game!
Sid was born, did some stuff, then decided to become a writer.
He finds respite in the sweet embrace of mass media escapism after having risked his life too many times as a journalist covering warzones and depressed areas. Nowadays he mostly risks his bladder as he tries to hold his urine waiting for those precious post-credits scenes at the movies or trying to kill Souls-like bosses. So far it's going well. Probably.

Vortex 1.6 was released into the wild a few days ago, shipping with the latest batch of new features, UI improvements and a boatload of bug fixes. Here's a rundown of what's new in the latest version.

Recently there's been some silly drama on our site that was sparked by someone uploading a mod for Spider-Man Remastered. The mod replaced the very few Pride flags the game actually has with the already prevalent USA flag texture from the game. The mod was removed from Nexus Mods and the author was banned.
To address the banning, which is what a lot of people want to focus on, the mod was uploaded by a sock puppet account (i.e. a newly made account by someone who already has an accou...
