Stalingrad Cowgirls oli vuonna 2005 perustettu Sallasta kotoisin ollut suomalainen rockyhtye [1] . Yhtye soitti punk-henkistä rockmusiikkia. Trion jäsenistä Enni ja Riina ovat sisaruksia [2] . Yhtye kertoi heinäkuun lopussa 2012 lopettavansa. [3]
Keväällä 2006 yhtye tuli toiseksi Rovaniemellä järjestetyssä Simerock-bändikilpailussa. [4] Saman vuoden toukokuussa yhtye sai mahdollisuuden nauhoittaa demo Nightwish -kitaristi Emppu Vuorisen kanssa tämän kotistudiolla. [2]
Useampikin levy-yhtiö oli kiinnostunut tekemään sopimuksen yhtyeen kanssa [5] ja lopulta maaliskuussa 2007 yhtye teki levytyssopimuksen Warner Musicin kanssa. [6] Samana vuonna yhtyeellä oli viisikymmentä esiintymistä. Se oli lämmittely-yhtyeenä muun muassa Iggy & The Stoogesille , Muselle , Eppu Normaalille , Avril Lavignelle ja Negativelle . [7]
Debyyttialbumi Somewhere High ilmestyi syyskuussa 2007. Albumi nousi korkeimmillaan Suomen virallisen albumilistan sijalle 30. [8] Lisäksi Stalingrad Cowgirls oli ehdolla vuoden 2007 yhtyetulokas- Emman saajaksi.
Vuonna 2009 Stalingrad Cowgirls esiintyi Japanissa sekä toimi Moskovassa lämmittely-yhtyeenä Mötley Crüelle .
Yhtyeen toinen albumi Kiss Your Heart Goodbye julkaistiin Suomessa 5. toukokuuta 2010 sekä Ruotsissa, Norjassa ja Tanskassa 27. syyskuuta 2010. Albumi nousi Suomen virallisen albumilistan sijalle 27. [9]
Albumin ensimmäinen single Baby Girl nousi YleX:n soittolistalle sekä YleX Himotuimmat -listan ykköseksi viikoilla 15, 20 ja 27 [10] [11] [12] .
Vuonna 2010 yhtye esiintyi mm. YleXPop 2010 -festivaaleilla [13] , teki lyhyet kiertueet Kiinassa [14] , Saksassa , Norjassa ja Ruotsissa sekä toimi lämmittely-yhtyeenä Michael Monroelle [15] ja Billy Idolille . [16]
Stalingrad Cowgirlsin jäsenet ilmoittivat 31. heinäkuuta 2012 yhtyeen lopettavan toimintansa [17] ja kertoivat lopettamispäätöksestä ja sen taustoista blogissaan "Save a Horse – Ride a Cowgirl." [18] . Viimeisen kerran yhtye esiintyi 11. elokuuta Rovaniemellä. [3] [19]

Stalingrad Cowgirls were a punk/rock outfit band from a small town of Salla in finnish Lappland. Their band name derived from the name of an older (still active) Finnish punk rock band called Leningrad Cowboys.
They started 2005 and ended in 2012. They supported Muse in Stockholm 2007 .
