Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Staff Backend Engineer at Alfa Docs. The Staff Backend Engineer will design, implement, and maintain backend services and APIs, ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability. Responsibilities include leading technical design discussions, reviewing code, and mentoring other engineers on best practices in backend and software architecture. The role involves collaborating closely with product, front-end, and DevOps teams to deliver features, resolve complex issues, and improve developer productivity. The engineer will also drive technical standards, contribute to long-term system roadmaps, and help refine engineering processes.
Qualifications
* Strong Back-End Web Development skills, including building and maintaining APIs and server-side services.
* Solid Software Development experience with a focus on designing, implementing, and testing production-grade systems.
* Proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and designing maintainable, modular, and extensible codebases.
* Programming expertise in one or more modern languages commonly used for backend development (e.g., Java, C#, Python, Go, Node.js).
* Working knowledge of Front-End Development concepts to collaborate effectively with client-side teams.
* Experience with databases (SQL/NoSQL), caching, and distributed systems; familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) is beneficial.
* Ability to lead technical initiatives, mentor peers, and communicate clearly with cross-functional stakeholders.
* Background in designing scalable architectures, applying security best practices, and optimizing performance.
* Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
