It was really nice stay. Well worth for what we paid. Very good staff and good hospitality. Clean swimming pool but some guest pay less and. Expect more.

Only few activities for children, sea is strong, not for swimming or children, all inclusive covers only basic drinks and food in main restorant. A lack of umbrellas and sun loungers meant people were out booking them by 6am - hotel needs to buy more umbrellas especially. Food and drinks for non-inclusive guests were expensive. Stayed in 3 other hotels during holiday and Royal Palms was most expensive and least nice. Beautiful Hotel, from the reception staff to pool staff everyone had a smile and helpful Food was good, Room service was fast and food was good. Pool with the bubbles and shade and the bar was super. Room good and clean A very enjoyable and relaxing stay. One of finest beach resort in sri lanka located in Kalutara beach with good facilities. This place is overrun by Russians, sitting by pool being fat and overweight and rude. Rejuvenating and pampering for mind, soul and body. Very pleased, we were greeted on arrival and a man with excellent english took control of the whole check-in process from the start until actually closing the room door. The entire process was swift and efficient and much appreciated after a long, hot journey from Kandy. The room was comfortable and well equipped with a nice balcony where the comical and tame local squirrels would come down to visit and beg for titbits. The themed buffet nights in the restaurant were magnificent!! The buffet breakfast was plentiful and catered to all tastes. The beach is not ideal for swimming but the hotel does have a very large swimming pool with poolside bar. Loved it here, rounded off the last few days of our holidays very nicely and only took about an hour to get to the airport as well. This hotel is located at a very nice place. But, there were several issues that made my stay deteriorated. The rooms were not properly air conditioned. It was fully humid once you spend several hours inside the room. Another fact is that room service is very slow. If you need something you better call them at least minutes earlier. If you wish to walk outside the hotel, be safe. We had a wonderful time. Beautiful Hotel. Everything was just excellent. OK, but we felt trapped in a resort situated in surrondings with no service. To be honest, we booked this hotel because all the other hotels were full, but this was probably the best thing that happened that weekend! What a wonderful hotel. This was a clean, modern hotel, with swim up bar. Good for families and couples. You cannot swim in the ocean this time of year, too dangerous. However, there was a large pool area. This was off season for Sri Lanka, so the hotel was not full. Staff was cheerful and friendly. Good laundry service if you need it. We did not go into the town of Kalutara, but stayed at the resort. There were tours available from the hotel, and we took one to Galle. The hotel has nice pool and a nice view. Food and drinks were expensive. I wish agoda would offer all-inclusive options for such hotels. Hotel is 3 minutes walking distance from souvenir shops and touristic restorants.. Good and cheap seafood. It was a nice stay at the Royal Palms Beach hotel. Rooms are of comfortable size and there is a pool of decent size. Really liked the food, especially for the Sri Lankan theme dinners and the Hurricane bar has a great atmosphere and it the perfect place for a drink in the later afternoon and to play a game of chess! I loved this hotel. The staff were friendly, they let us check in early and our stay was wonderful. I cannot wait to return! I booked for 2 deluxe rooms but surprisingly they were in the ground floor. What a bad way of welcoming guests!!! Enjoyed the stay.
