Saint Louis Martin was a French layman and the father of Saint Thérèse of Lisieux. He is venerated as a saint in the Catholic Church and is the patron saint of families. Louis Martin was born on August 22nd, 1823, in Bordeaux, France, the youngest of seven children born to Francois Martin and Marie Guerin.
