A RAID 0 would be strip size x 4, RAID 5 would be strip size x 3 . . . Note: Because you are using SSD's , RAID 5 would be an acceptable choice here because SSD's do not have the URE issues that HDD's have and their increased speed lessens the rebuild time, and the performance impact on the array when degraded and rebuilding .

Since a higher stripe size leads to more wasted space I would recommend a 16kb stripe for SSD RAID 0 (and so dose Intel) regardless of the number of disks in the RAID .
In some cases, the software vendors may provide documentation on how to select the best RAID stripe size for their applications . Common stripe sizes may be 16KB, 64 KB, 512KB, 1 MB, etc . Either one should work fine from the SSD side . Here are some documents that you may use for reference:
thanks guys, I decided to go with default recommended settings for database in the RAID settings, which has stripe size of 1Mb
The stripe size does not make a big difference on a RAID 1 . The stripe size is most important when you are spreading the data across multiple disks . The size of the stripe can have an impact on the performance of the array by spreading data across the drives or limiting the data access to a single drive . By changing the stripe size you can make your arrays seek time or sequential access times improve .
So, for use cases such as databases and email servers, you should go for a bigger RAID chunk size , say, 64 KB or larger . From Toms Hardware: If you access tons of small files, a smaller stripe size like 16K or 32K is recommended . For primarily large, sequential accesses like video files, a higher stripe size like 128K is recommended .
From my understanding of RAID a smaller stripe-size , lets say 32 or 16kb, should offer a higher transfer speed as more files can be read from more than one disk (can be striped to more disks) and overhead can be reduced for smaller files since only 32kb need to be rad for a 4kb file instead of 265kb - of course this would increase the IO but since its an SSD it should handle it .
- ssd erase-block size : this differs with vendors, mostly 4MB, but I have seen values between 1MB and 8MB - cache- size of your raid -controller (can be anything between zero and a few GB) If you do not have time for testing, just pick default value raid -controller offers .
