This was sort of my bad. I didn't know this game could not be played on XBox One, some games are recognized on XBox One with backward recognition playability, Not this one. Now it just looks cool sitting on my shelf...Until I buy an XBox 360. Until then...I must create my own Spy-vs-Spy scenarios in real life I guess. I have seen the game, and it is pretty cool. Lots of fun with two-player option in split screen mode, But I like solo mode. If you love the Spy-vs-Spy comics, you'll love this hilarious game.

This is one of my favorite games, Ive played this awhile back when the original xbox was more known but i rented it and never got the chance to enjoy more of it, this game is in away different from most video games you play. Spy vs Spy puts you in a third person view of a spy of your choice, you have to complete tasks to get farther into the game but in random moments the other spy( depending on which spy you play) Surprises you after you complete a task and you have to kill him, but Truly this game is a 10 out of 10 for me its just amazing and fun!, the graphics are cartoonish like which gives the game quite an amazing look!, the storie mode is truly awesome!, Id recommended this game to anyone! :)

This game is one of the best games I have played. Especially from a nostalgia standpoint because it is basically taken from the pages of the comic, spy vs. spy is hysterical and can be played alone or online. If you enjoy the comics then you will love the video game. I highly recommend buying it, especially if you are a grown up with a love for comic mischief.

I loved it. My wife and I can play together...she just loves blowing me up among other things...lol no, really, game play is really cool and i s pretty simple and really funny. great for kids for sure

Hard to rate this product when it does not work in our xbox live 360. We have this item and it is only made for xbox and is not compatible for the xbox 360 live. condition of the game and the timely manner we recieved it were good. It just sucks that it doesn't work on our system.

Works like a charm. Don't be afraid if the case online does not look like the real case.

This game is one of the best games I have ever played. Make sure you have friends to play with to have a exiting time!

Product was everything it was supposed to be, but I did not read fine print. Can't be played on xbox 360. Refund in process, but everything was made easy in order toreturn product. I would purchase from this seller again.

I love this game so much and was dissapointed my husband ...

When I saw this game I had to jump on it, to think I paid this much... It hurts ones pride when it was cheaper for new when it came out... Well I digress. When I received the item I was concerned that it would be covered in scratches however it looked as if it wasn't even touched. The case alone looked so new I was surprised to find that it wasn't wrapped in plastic. I love this game so much and was dissapointed my husband didn't enjoy it. Loved the buy, hated the price, but all in all I am so very happy to find it and in the best condition. THANK YOU!

Spy vs. Spy is a video game developed by Vicious Cycle Software and published by Global Star Software . The game is based on the MAD magazine 's titular comic strip . The game features the two spies ("Black" and "White") in a unique story mode, plus two other game modes ("Modern" and "Classic"), and a multiplayer mode for up to 4 players. A GameCube version was planned, but it was cancelled.

In this single-player mode, the player is able to choose between Black Spy or White Spy to complete a variety of missions filled with puzzles and a cast of enemies, including the enemy spy, all of which are AI-controlled. The story has been developed to be like an extended episode of the 1960s cartoon with a modern twist. The choice of spy does not matter –– the player will still receive the same weapons and gadgets on either campaign. Likewise also, there are the same missions each way. The main story in this mode revolves around the two spies trying to stop the superweapon of an evil general and trying to outsmart each other along the way.

These modes can be played in Single player or Multiplayer. The aim of these modes is to collect 4 artifacts, (Key, Disguise, Gadget (Remote), Bucks Bag (Money Bag)) from safes around the map (and a Briefcase in Classic mode to carry all of the items) before the other spy, and then escaping in either the elevator or (in Modern mode) some unusual getaway vehicle. The winner is the player who collects all 4 artifacts from the map and then escapes. This rule applies in both Modern and Classic modes - the only difference is that the 8 Modern maps are all unique and different, but the Classic maps are more like the 1960s cartoon and the original game. The 8 Modern modes are: The Mansion, The Kooky Carnival, The Robot Factory, The Oil Rig, The Haunted House, The Volcano Lair, Area 51 & The Space Station, whereas the Classic mode increases in room size by 1 every level.

In this mode, two new coloured spies are introduced, Red and Blue. These spies are AI-controlled with 2 players or can be chosen in 3 or 4-player mode. These are basically Deathmatch/Capture the Flag style games - kill all other spies and capture their flags to win, and can be played in either Modern or Classic modes.

The Xbox version received "mixed" reviews, while the PlayStation 2 version received "unfavorable" reviews according to video game review aggregator Metacritic . [13] [14]

Around 2018, a sequel and remaster, titled Spy vs. Spy vs. Spy (or Spies ) was being developed by ONIGAME team. It was put on hold for a long time until it was eventually cancelled with
one of the reasons being that ONIGAME asked the rights for the game from Eric Peterson (one of the developers at Vicious Cycle Software which produced the game) but not asking the rights from DC Entertainment which owned the Spy vs. Spy IP. [15]

Spy vs. Spy is a wordless comic strip published in Mad magazine. It features two agents involved in stereotypical and comical espionage activities. One is dressed in white, and the other in black, but they are otherwise identical, and are particularly known for their long, beaklike heads and their white pupils and black sclera. The pair are always at war with each other, using a variety of booby-traps to inflict harm on the other. The spies usually alternate between victory and defeat (sometimes both win and both lose) with each new strip. A parody of the political ideologies of the Cold War , the strip was created by Cuban expatriate cartoonist Antonio Prohías , and debuted in Mad #60, dated January 1961. [1] Spy vs. Spy is currently written and drawn by Peter Kuper .

The Spy vs. Spy characters have been featured in such media as video games and an animated television series, and in such merchandise as action figures and trading cards .

Prohías was a prolific cartoonist in Cuba known for political satire . He fled to the United States on May 1, 1960, three days before Fidel Castro 's government nationalized the last of the Cuban free press . [2] Prohías sought work in his profession and travelled to the offices of Mad magazine in New York City on July 12, 1960. After a successful showing of his work and a prototype cartoon for Spy vs. Spy , Prohías was hired. [3]

Prohías cryptically signed each strip on its first panel with a sequence of Morse code characters that spell "BY PROHIAS". In a 1983 interview with the Miami Herald , Prohías reflected on the success of Spy vs. Spy , stating, "The sweetest revenge has been to turn Fidel's accusation of me as a spy into a moneymaking venture." [3] Prohías, however, was censored by Mad magazine publisher William Gaines on at least one occasion: the strip that eventually appeared in Mad magazine #84 (Jan. 1964) was altered to remove scenes where the spies drink and smoke (Gaines had a strong anti-smoking stance). [3] Prohías evolved his drawing style over the years, making the Spies' heads proportionately larger by 1964. In 1965 he began to experiment with not drawing frames on the Spies' shades, and this became a consistent trait from late 1966 on. In the 1980s overhanging lips were common. Prohías completed a total of 241 Spy vs. Spy strips for Mad magazine, the last one appearing in #269 (March 1987). [3] After that he drew gag strips for the titles (such as one involving radioactive waste in #287) and wrote several stories for Clarke or Manak to draw, with his last such contribution in #337 (July 1995). [4]

The strips continued, with writer Duck Edwing and artist Bob Clarke creating the majority. Their strips are identifiable by Clarke's drawing style, but signed " 'C/e", or " 'C/p" in the Prohías-written cases.

Some were largely uncredited, simply being signed "M&S" (MAD 335) or "M&e" (MAD 352).

Peter Kuper took over as writer and artist for the strip with Mad magazine #356 (April 1997). It was later drawn in full color when the magazine changed from a black and white to full color format.

Black Spy and White Spy (or "Man in Black" and "Man in White") – Wearing wide-brimmed hats and dressed in overcoats , both Spies have long pointed faces. They are identical except for one being entirely in white and one entirely in black. The Spies were modeled after El Hombre Siniestro ( "The Sinister Man" ), a character Prohías created in the Cuban magazine Bohemia in 1956. Like the Spies, he wore a wide-brimmed hat and overcoat and had a long pointed nose. Prohías described the character as someone who "thought nothing of chopping the tails off of dogs, or even the legs off of little girls" and stated he was "born out of the national psychosis of the Cuban people." [3] 'El Hombre Siniestro bears strong resemblance to the Spies—although, instead of fighting against a set rival, he simply does horrible things to anyone he can find.

The cover copy of The All New Mad Secret File on Spy vs. Spy provides early insight to the characters and Prohías' views on the Castro regime and the CIA :

You are about to meet Black Spy and White Spy – the two MADdest spies in the whole world. Their antics are almost as funny as the CIA's. ... When it comes to in trigue, these guys make it way out trigue. They are the only two spies we know who haven't the sense to come in out of the cold. But they have a ball – mainly trying to outwit each other. [3]
