This product is comparable to many others, but this is the cheapest available with this set of features. It does not have motion detection or night vision, but the camera is 1080p with high quality video and pictures. In mode 2, press and hold the button to start recording, press and hold it again to stop and turn off the pen. Press it once to stop and put it in standby, where it will turn off after a minute (constant yellow light in standby). In mode 1 press and hold to start audio recording. Press and hold again to stop audio and put it on standby. In this mode at any time during audio record or standby press once to take a photo. To turn it off, press and hold to place it in standby mode (constant yellow light), then let it time out. In can record about an hour of video before the battery dies, but if it sits the battery runs out slowly. Audio/camera can last more than an hour. The device itself can be used as a USB with its cable or by itself plugged into a computer. Ensure the metal side faces up, into the USB port's metal. When you insert the MicroSD card (must be 32gb or less) make sure the printed side faces out towards you. Push it in firmly. The instructions were poor, so hopefully this helps. I recommend this product over the alternatives, as this is priced best for the sturdy quality. The pen itself comes with 3 refills.

I love this pen! It is easy to record and take pictures. The picture quality is great. The video is also as good. I was shocked at how clear the image was even when moving. There is a switch in the pen that you have to put on number 1 or 2 if you want one or the other. I actually love this because then I know if I am taking pictures or videos. The batter life is also great, my husband was testing the pen and forgot to shut it off so we had a long video of listening to him watch tv. The pen shut itself off when there was no noise which saved the battery, otherwise, when I took it with me to try it later the batter would have been dead. It is also easy to charge. You can plug it into the charging cord or the computer. If you need to be decreet when recording or taking pictures this is the camera to use!
Unit stopped recording video and taking pictures at 34 days the audio still worked. The seller reached out to me and offered to replace the product because they are confident in their product. Just received the replacement with no issues.
It never came on. I was told to use a sd card so it will come on. After new sd card and days of charging..... Nothing

I bought this spy pen as a novelty gift for my daughter. She's 13 years old and struggled to get it to work, but once she figured it out, she loves it. She and her cousins make funny reels/shorts videos with it and have come up with some really clever ways to use it.
